Esade bachelor admission at a glance
To start an Esade bachelor in September 2027 you apply online through Esade's own process, which the admissions page says is open until June 2027, as long as there are places left. You pay a €150 application fee, completely non-refundable, pass the Esade Admissions Test or send SAT or ACT results, prove your English and, if the committee asks, attend an interview. The tuition fees page lists a first-year price of €21,300 for the single bachelors and €24,500 for the double degrees, without naming an academic year.
Esade is a private university inside Universitat Ramon Llull, and Esade states that it runs its own admissions process. Unlike Spanish public universities, Esade says none of its degrees has minimum entry grades. Some programme pages still set a minimum school grade and a mathematics level, which the requirements chapters below cover programme by programme.
What the Esade Admissions Committee weighs
The Esade undergraduate admissions page lists five elements: the application, your academic transcript, the Esade or SAT/ACT test result, your English test result and a personal interview if required. Esade states that all of these have equal weight. The final decision compares you with all candidates and depends on the number of spaces available.
- Application: online form plus the €150 fee, which Esade does not refund.
- Test: the Esade Admissions Test, or SAT results sent with code 7073 or ACT results with code 6922.
- English: Esade states that all Esade applicants must effectively demonstrate their English language proficiency.
- Interview: only when the Admissions Committee needs more information from you.
- Enrolment: after admission you prove that you meet the university entrance requirements of your own school system.
When to apply to Esade
Esade advises you to apply in your last year of high-school education before university or shortly after your high-school graduation. The admissions page says the process for September 2027 is open until June 2027, as long as there are places left, and the Esade FAQ page adds that online applications open, one year before the start of the academic year.
The Esade tuition fees page lists one price for every single degree and one for every double degree, and it names no academic year. The figures in the table are the ones that page shows in October 2026; the fees chapter covers what Esade says about later increases.
| Programme | First-year tuition | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | €21,300 (tuition fees page, no year named) | 4 years |
| Double Degree in Business Administration and Law | €24,500 (tuition fees page, no year named) | 5 years |
| Law, Global Governance, Transformational Leadership, Business and AI | €21,300 each (tuition fees page, no year named) | See programmes chapter |
| Other double degrees (Law + Global Governance, BBA + Business and AI, BBA + Global Governance) | €24,500 each (tuition fees page, no year named) | See programmes chapter |
Esade bachelors and double degrees: programmes, language of instruction and campus
Esade lists five single bachelors and four double degrees with a September 2027 start: single degrees take 4 years and 240 ECTS, double degrees take 5 years, and every programme leads to an official degree from Esade-Ramon Llull University. The BBA, Business and AI, Global Governance and Transformational Leadership do not require Spanish; Law and the bilingual BBA section do.
Esade's single degrees are the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the Bachelor in Law, the Bachelor in Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order, the Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence and the Bachelor in Transformational Leadership and Social Impact. Esade's double degrees combine Business Administration and Law, Law and Global Governance, the BBA and Business and AI, and Business Administration and Global Governance. The Global Governance programme page names the official degree the Bachelor in Global Governance, Economics and International Law, while the admissions pages use "Legal Order".
| Programme | Length and credits | Intake | Campus |
|---|---|---|---|
| BBA (English section and bilingual section) | 4 years, 240 ECTS | 475 across both sections | Barcelona-Sant Cugat |
| Bachelor in Law | 4 years, 240 ECTS | 60 | Barcelona-Pedralbes |
| Global Governance, Economics and International Law | 4 years, 240 ECTS | 130 | Barcelona-Sant Cugat |
| Business and Artificial Intelligence | 4 years (240 ECTS) | Not stated | Barcelona-Sant Cugat |
| Transformational Leadership and Social Impact | 4 years, 240 ECTS | max. 60 | Barcelona-Sant Cugat (BITLASI Space) |
| Double Degree in Business Administration and Law | 5 years, 365 ECTS | 65 | Pedralbes, then Sant Cugat |
| Double Degree in Law + Global Governance | 5 years, 365 ECTS | 60 | Barcelona-Pedralbes |
| Double Degree BBA + Business and AI | 5 years, 329 ECTS | 70 | Barcelona-Sant Cugat |
| Double Degree Business Administration + Global Governance | 5 years, 365 ECTS | 60 | Barcelona-Sant Cugat |
The double degrees lead to two official degrees. The Double Degree in Business Administration and Law, for example, awards both the Bachelor in Law and the BBA from Esade-Ramon Llull University, and Esade's campuses page places its 1st, 2nd and 3rd year at Pedralbes and the 4th and 5th year at Sant Cugat.
Language of instruction at Esade
The Esade BBA runs both 100% in English and as a bilingual Spanish/English or Catalan/English programme. Esade states that the bilingual format is kept in the first year and moves to complete English immersion from the second year. The Business and AI bachelor is listed on the campuses page as 100% in English.
The Esade Bachelor in Law teaches law subjects in Spanish and gradually in English, so that by the end 40% of the subjects you complete will have been in English. Esade's admission requirements ask Law applicants for native or very high Spanish proficiency at DELE C2.
- Spanish not required: BBA English section, Global Governance, Business and AI, Transformational Leadership and Social Impact.
- Spanish required at DELE C1: BBA bilingual section.
- Spanish required at DELE C2: Bachelor in Law.
The Esade admissions process step by step
The Esade bachelor admissions process is 100% online: you submit the application with a €150 non-refundable fee, pass the admissions test, upload your school records, and after an offer you reserve your place by paying 25% of the first-year tuition. For September 2027 entry the process runs until June 2027 while places remain.
Esade states that you do not have to be present for any step of the process. Each step below follows the order on the Esade undergraduate admissions and tuition fees pages.
The Esade application fee
The Esade application fee is €150 and Esade states it is completely non-refundable. The Esade Admission Test page adds a second charge: if you miss two of the scheduled test dates and still want to sit the test, you pay another processing fee (€150).
Documents to upload if you study abroad
If you study abroad or in a foreign school system in Spain, Esade asks for these documents with your application:
- The final transcript of all your marks for the last 3 years of secondary education.
- Your final-year marks on any evaluations carried out up to the date you apply to Esade.
- An official English certificate (TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, Michigan or similar) if you have one at the time of applying.
How the Esade Admissions Committee decides
The Esade Admissions Committee looks at five elements: your application, your academic transcript, your Esade or SAT/ACT test result, your English test result and a personal interview if one is required. Esade states that all of these have equal weight in the result of the admissions process.
The Esade final decision depends on your individual, overall evaluation compared with all other candidates and on the number of places available. The admission requirements page describes the same holistic review: past academic record, most recent grades, education system, application essays, admissions test and English proficiency.
Esade's grade guidelines by school system are, in Esade's words, a reference only and do not guarantee admission. Reaching a guideline grade does not secure a place at Esade.
After an Esade offer
Esade usually gives you between two and three weeks to confirm your place after the offer, and warns that this window may be shorter later in the year. You confirm by paying 25% of the total course tuition fee, then pay the pending 75%. The Esade tuition fees page calls it essential to complete matriculation by the date the Registrar's Office sets at the start of July.
Esade deadlines and key dates for September 2027 entry
The Esade admissions page for September 2027 entry says the process is open until June 2027, as long as there are places left. The final decision depends on each candidate's evaluation compared with all candidates and on the number of spaces available.
Esade advises applying in your last year of high-school education before university or shortly after your high-school graduation. The Esade FAQ page says that online applications open, one year before the start of the academic year.
Confirming your Esade place
After an Esade offer you typically have between two and three weeks to confirm your place, and Esade notes that this period may be shortened later in the year. You confirm by paying 25% of the tuition fees for the first academic year in advance.
The Esade reservation payment is refunded only if you fail the last year of high school or the university entrance exam. A change of plans for any other reason does not bring the deposit back.
The summer before you start at Esade
The Esade admissions page lists key dates for the end of each cycle. The page names months but no year, so read them as the usual pattern rather than fixed 2027 dates:
The Esade tuition fees page calls it essential to complete matriculation by the date the Registrar's Office indicates at the start of July. Esade spells the accreditation both "UNEDasiss" and "UNEDassis" on the same page; the service is UNEDasiss, covered in the enrolment chapter.
Esade entry requirements by school-leaving qualification
Esade publishes a grade guideline for the main school systems, from a Spanish Bachillerato average of 7 out of 10 for a single degree, and 8 out of 10 for a double degree to a predicted IB score of 32/42. The requirements page names no admission cycle: these are the guidelines Esade publishes in October 2026, and Esade states they are reference only and do not guarantee admission.
Esade assesses your past academic record, your most recent grades, your education system, your application essays, your admissions test and English language proficiency, so a grade at or above the guideline makes you a candidate, not an admitted student.
Does Esade have minimum entry grades?
The Esade admissions page says that Esade is a private university with its own admissions process and that none of the Esade degrees has minimum entry grades. In practice this means Esade publishes no nota de corte, the public-university cut-off mark that moves every year.
The Esade requirements page still sets one hard floor for one route. For the Spanish Bachillerato, the minimum high school average required for an application to be considered by the Admissions Committee is 7 out of 10 for a single degree, and 8 out of 10 for a double degree. Read both statements together: there is no published cut-off for admission, but a Bachillerato application below that average is not reviewed.
Esade grade guidelines by qualification
The Esade guideline for each major school system, as Esade publishes it on the requirements page (no cycle named):
| Qualification | What Esade looks for |
|---|---|
| Spanish Bachillerato | Minimum average 7 out of 10 for a single degree, and 8 out of 10 for a double degree |
| IB Diploma | A predicted score of 32/42 in IBDP 2 can be considered |
| French Baccalauréat | Première and Terminale bulletins with grades on a 20-point scale and class averages; results above the class average |
| A-Levels | The Spanish Government requires 5 IGCSEs and 3 A-Levels; A-Levels from AAB to A*A*A*; (I)GCSEs As and Bs |
| German Abitur | Ongoing average of ≥10,5/15, Sehr Gut or Gut in related subjects |
| US High School Diploma | GPA ≥3.3/4 (≥B+) (unweighted); AP or Honors highly recommended |
| European Baccalaureate | Minimum average 75% |
| Italian Maturità | Average ≥8/10, final Maturità ≥80/100 |
| Swiss Matura | Average ≥4.8 out of 6 |
| Portuguese Ensino Secundário | Average ≥14 out of 20, plus DGES and ENES |
| Austrian Reifeprüfungszeugnis | Ongoing average ≤ 2/5 |
| Norwegian Vitnemal | Average 4.5+ out of 6 |
| China National Curriculum | On average 90+ out of 100 and 135+ out of 150, Gaokao 550 / 750 (except Jiangsu and Shanghai) |
Some Esade figures describe students already admitted, not the bar. Esade states that the average final Abitur grade of our students is 1,65/4, and that the average final Reifeprüfungszeugnis grade of our students is 1,4/5. Treat those as the level of the class, not as the gate.
IB, A-Levels and French Bac at Esade: the details
For the IB at Esade, the requirements page says: The IB Diploma must be awarded by no later than the session of May (results available at the beginning of July). Esade states that retakes in November will not be accepted for the September intake of the same academic year.
For A-Levels at Esade, the requirements page says: Predicted A-Level grades together with ongoing progress reports/transcripts are sufficient for the admission process. Admitted students then have to verify their final results in the summer, when the results are released.
For the Spanish Bachillerato at Esade, you must be in Segundo de Bachillerato when you apply and pass your first PAU, EBAU or EvAU examinations in June to enrol. Esade does not consider retake exam scores.
Qualifications Esade does not accept
- IB: Esade states that IB Certificates and IB Career Related Programme (CP) are not valid for enrollment; only the IB Diploma Programme is considered.
- French Bac: Esade accepts the Baccalauréat Général, the BFI and the OIB if obtained before 2024. Since the 2021 reform, the Baccalauréat Professionnel and Technologique are not accepted, including the STMG.
- A-Levels: A-Levels in Critical Thinking and General Studies are not accepted by Esade. BTEC is not accepted as a replacement for A-Levels.
Other national diplomas Esade accepts
The Esade requirements page lists further accepted diplomas for other systems:
- Poland: Swiadectwo Ukonczenia + Dojrzalosci Liceum Ogolnoksztalcacego (general Lyceum).
- Netherlands: the VWO diploma (Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs), obtained after passing the Centraal Examen.
- Brazil: the Certificado de Conclusão de Ensino Médio plus an ENEM score of at least 600.
- Australia: a Year 12 certificate plus an ATAR score of 86+, or 1-7 for Overall Position (Queensland).
Whichever diploma you hold, Esade also asks for the separate steps covered in the next chapters: the mathematics level for your programme, the Esade Admissions Test or an accepted SAT or ACT, the language level and, where Esade asks for one, an interview.
Esade mathematics requirements by programme
Esade sets a mathematics minimum for its business programmes, for example a Bachillerato average of (≥7/10) in Matemáticas for the BBA group, and a higher bar for Business and Artificial Intelligence, such as A-Level Mathematics at (A*). The requirements page names no cycle; these are the rules Esade publishes in October 2026.
The Esade maths rule depends on two things: the programme you apply to and the school system you come from. Esade groups the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the BBA and Law double degree, the BBA and Global Governance double degree and the Bachelor in Transformational Leadership and Social Impact under one maths level. Business and Artificial Intelligence and its BBA double degree sit at the higher level.
Esade maths minimums by qualification
The European Baccalaureate line for the BBA group is published under the BBA and Global Governance double degree: Minimum of 3 periods of mathematics per week (scores to be at least 75% on scale of 1-100). The IB and French Baccalauréat lines in the BBA column are the ones Esade lists for the Bachelor in Transformational Leadership and Social Impact.
Business and Artificial Intelligence: the higher Esade maths bar
Esade Business and Artificial Intelligence, alone and as a double degree with the BBA, asks for the strongest maths record. With A-Levels, Mathematics must be one of your three A-Levels at (A*); Esade adds that Further Maths is not required. With a US diploma, Esade asks for AP Calculus AB/BC rather than Calculus alone.
The Esade Admissions Test, SAT and ACT
Esade bachelor applicants take the Esade Admissions Test, a 3-hour test of reasoning plus English, or send an SAT or ACT score where Esade accepts one instead. Esade's pages give two different SAT pictures: the admission requirements page lists SAT: Average 1350. Minimum 1200., while the other-tests page says We do not require a minimum test score and gives an accepted SAT average of 1320 points. Both pages are what Esade publishes in October 2026.
The Esade Admissions Test measures how you reason rather than what you memorised: Esade says it lets the university measure your competencies in logic, numerical and problem-solving skills and that it will also evaluate your English level. The parts differ between the BBA and the Bachelor in Law.
What the Esade Admissions Test contains
| Part | BBA |
|---|---|
| Sufficiency of information | 30 minutes |
| Numerical analysis | 35 minutes |
| Logical reasoning | 35 minutes |
| English level test: writing and exercises | 75 minutes |
For the Bachelor in Law, Esade lists Multiple choice test in three sections, including Verbal ability or applied verbal comprehension (35 minutes). The BBA test is also a Multiple choice test in three sections.
The English level test consists of one essay in English and a multiple choice test, in which points are not deducted for mistakes. The reasoning sections work the other way: the multiple choice test is sat in Spanish or English depending on your programme, and Points are deducted for wrong answers. Candidates for the English section of the BBA must sit the test in English.
Esade test dates, registration and retakes
The Esade Admissions Test is offered online; per Esade, the undergraduate admissions department schedules several admission tests every week, from October to June. To take it you fill in the online application form for your programme at least one week before the test is due to be held.
If you cannot make your Esade test date, you can ask for a new one, giving your reasons with at least one week's notice. The Esade test is not pass-or-fail: Esade uses the results to build your profile, and for that reason candidates can only sit the Esade Admissions Test once.
Sending an SAT or ACT score to Esade instead
The two Esade pages differ on who may use the SAT or ACT. The admissions page says you can also sit the SAT (Scholarship Aptitude Test) or ACT when applying to any of its programmes. The other-tests page addresses applicants to the BBA or the Double Degree in Business Administration and Law: you can sit the SAT (Scholarship Aptitude Test) or ACT. If you apply to any other Esade programme, confirm with Esade admissions before relying on an SAT or ACT.
| Test | Admission requirements page | Other admissions tests page |
|---|---|---|
| SAT | SAT: Average 1350. Minimum 1200. | We do not require a minimum test score; the average result that we accept from the SAT exam is 1320 points |
| ACT | ACT: Average 30. Minimum 24. | Students with ACT scores usually have an average of 31/36 |
| Score code | SAT 7073, ACT 6922 | On the admissions page: ACT Code 6922 SAT Designated institution code (DI) SAT 7073 |
The requirements page lists a minimum and the other-tests page says there is none and gives only an average, so both statements are given here. Send results directly to Esade with ACT Code 6922 or SAT Designated institution code (DI) SAT 7073. The other-tests page also says you can send a copy of the unofficial results, official ones later.
Preparing for the Esade Admissions Test
The Esade FAQ recommends that you consult a sample test to have a general idea about the types of questions you will be asked. Because the reasoning sections deduct points for wrong answers and you can sit the Esade test only once, practise on timed sections before you book your date.
Esade English requirements and exemptions
Esade states that all Esade applicants must effectively demonstrate their English language proficiency. For the BBA English section the requirements page lists ACT English section: Minimum score 27 and Duolingo English Test: minimum 160 points; for the BBA bilingual section it lists 25 on the ACT English section and Duolingo English Test: minimum 160 points. The requirements page names no cycle; these are the lines Esade publishes in October 2026.
The English line depends on the programme section, and the Esade requirements page repeats its language table under each programme heading.
Esade English score lines by programme section
| Test | BBA English section | BBA bilingual section |
|---|---|---|
| ACT English | Minimum score 27 | 25 |
| Duolingo English Test | minimum 160 points | minimum 160 points |
| PTE Academic | 76 (From 70 to 75*) | - |
For the BBA English section the requirements page also lists component minimums dated 2026: C1 Advanced (formerly: CAE): minimum of 175 per component IELTS Academic: minimum of 6 per component TOEFL iBT: minimum of 20 per component, and PTE Academic 50 per component.
If your English score is just below the Esade minimum
Esade lists a band just under some minimums, for example PTE Academic 76 (From 70 to 75*) for the BBA English section. Scores in a starred band carry the note * Requires validation of Esade's Language Department. Esade adds that candidates with a valid test score below the minimum score accepted may be required to take a preliminary English course before the degree starts.
Esade English test waivers
If you take the Esade Admissions Test, an English certificate is not mandatory, particularly if you studied in an Anglophone system such as an American High School Diploma, the IB in English or A-levels. The Esade test includes its own English level part. Esade also lists waivers from an English language test:
- A certificate from the waiver table, for example IELTS Academic: 7 (minimum of 6 per component) or TOEFL iBT: 100 (minimum of 20 per component); the same table lists C1 Advanced 190 (175 per component); C2 Proficiency 190.
- Newer score lines on the waiver table: SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section: 650, ACT English section: 27, PTE Academic: 76 (minimum of 50 per component) and TOEFL iBT 2026: 5.0 Minimum 4.5 per section.
- Countries: English is (or was) your primary language during the final 2.5 years of your secondary school in one of the following countries (Australia, Canada except Quebec, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa), with proof. The waiver page also lists the United Kingdom (except for Commonwealth countries and territories) United States of America.
- IB: English A (English Language/Literature/Language and Literature) HL 6 / SL 6. English B (English Language/Literature/Language and Literature) HL 7.
- American High School Diploma: English was (or will be) part of your studies during the final 2.5 years of High School.
- A-level: English Language (minimum Grade B or 6) English Second Language (minimum Grade A or 7) English Language and Literature (minimum Grade B or 6).
- European Baccalaureate: English language L1 (70%); three periods per week minimum or English language L2 (80%); three periods per week minimum.
- Switzerland (Maturité): Pass English with 5 (bien/gut/bene). Dutch four-year HBO diploma: English language pass at 8 (Goed).
A waiver at Esade is not automatic: The Admissions Committee makes the final decision on granting you an exemption from an English language test.
Esade Spanish requirements for bilingual and Spanish-taught programmes
Esade asks for Spanish only in its bilingual and Spanish-taught bachelors: Native or very high proficiency DELE C2 for the Bachelor in Law and the BBA plus Law, and DELE C1 for the BBA bilingual section and the Law plus Global Governance double degree. For the English-taught programmes Esade states that Knowledge of Spanish is not required. The requirements page names no cycle; this is what Esade publishes in October 2026.
The Esade requirements page lists the Spanish level for each programme in its language table, next to the English line. The table below gives each programme's Spanish line as Esade states it.
Esade Spanish level by programme
| Programme | Spanish |
|---|---|
| Bachelor in Law | Native or very high proficiency DELE C2 |
| BBA plus Bachelor in Law | Native or very high proficiency DELE C2 |
| BBA, Bilingual Section | Native or very high proficiency DELE C1 |
| Law plus Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order | Native or very high proficiency DELE C1 |
| BBA, English-taught section | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
| Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
| Business and Artificial Intelligence | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
| Transformational Leadership and Social Impact | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
| Double Degree BBA plus Business and Artificial Intelligence | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
| Double Degree Business Administration plus Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order | Knowledge of Spanish is not required |
How non-native speakers show Spanish at Esade
Esade checks Spanish in person. Candidates who are not native Spanish speakers and who wish to enter a programme taught in Spanish or partially in Spanish must demonstrate their proficiency in this language in a personal interview. Esade names DELE C1 or C2 as the level and the personal interview as the way non-native speakers demonstrate it.
Esade interview and how the Admissions Committee selects
Esade says its Admissions Committee may require additional information from candidates, and in that case the committee will request a personal interview. The admissions page also lists a Video assessment (if needed) in its criteria. This is how Esade describes selection on its September 2027 admissions page.
Esade weighs five parts of an application: the admissions application, the academic transcript, the Esade or SAT/ACT test, the English language test and the personal interview if required. Esade states that All of these have equal weight when determining the results of the admissions process.
When Esade asks for an interview
The interview is conditional: when the Admissions Committee needs more information from a candidate, the committee will request a personal interview. Candidates who are not native Spanish speakers and apply to a programme taught fully or partly in Spanish also show their Spanish in a personal interview.
The profile Esade looks for
Esade describes the students it wants as intellectually inquisitive and curious, with initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit. Because none of the Esade degrees has minimum entry grades, Esade assesses your past academic record, your most recent grades, your education system, your application essays, your admissions test and your English language proficiency together.
What Esade publishes about admitted students
Esade states the average grades of its students, which show the level of the class rather than the gate:
| Measure | Esade students average | Published gate |
|---|---|---|
| Spanish Bachillerato, single degree | 8.4 out of 10 | 7 out of 10 |
| Spanish Bachillerato, double degree | 9.1 out of 10 | 8 out of 10 |
| IB Diploma | 36/42 (TOK, EE and CAS excluded) | Predicted 32/42 can be considered |
| French Baccalauréat | 15.7 out of 20 | Above the class average |
| SAT | Average 1350 (requirements page) or 1320 points (other-tests page) | Minimum 1200 on the requirements page, or We do not require a minimum test score on the other-tests page |
| ACT | Average 30 (requirements page) or 31/36 (other-tests page) | Minimum 24 on the requirements page |
Read the Esade table as a target, not a promise: the averages describe students already admitted, and the gates only decide whether the Admissions Committee reviews an application. Esade gives the application, transcript, test, English and interview equal weight, so your grades are one part of the decision, not the whole of it.
Esade enrolment: UNEDasiss accreditation or homologation
An Esade offer becomes a place only after you prove your school diploma gives university entry: students from European Union systems, China, Switzerland, Norway, agreement countries and IB or European Baccalaureate holders must present the credential issued by UNEDasiss, while other systems go through homologation, which takes approximately four months. The requirements page names no cycle; this is the rule Esade publishes in October 2026.
Esade states that after admission and before the programme starts, you must provide documentary proof that you meet the academic requirements for university entrance in the education system in which you received secondary schooling. Spain sets two routes for that proof, and your school system decides which one is yours.
UNEDasiss or homologation: which route applies to you
| Your school system | Route | What you show Esade |
|---|---|---|
| European Union (including Poland), China, Switzerland, Norway, countries with international agreements with Spain, IB Diploma, European Baccalaureate | UNEDasiss accreditation | the credential issued by UNEDasiss |
| Education systems on the Esade homologation list | Homologation | The voucher showing you have applied for homologation |
| Spanish Bachillerato | PAU, EBAU or EvAU | a pass in your first PAU, EBAU or EvAU in June |
Esade writes the service as both "UNEDasiss" and "UNEDassis" on the same page; both mean the same UNEDasiss credential. For homologation the Esade page says that students from the listed systems must follow the Homologation process instead of UNEDassis.
Homologation timing at Esade
Esade states that homologation can take approximately four months, so start it as soon as you have your Esade offer. Esade states that You will not be able to enroll at Esade if you do not present the voucher indicating that you have applied for homologation: the application itself, not the finished homologation, is what unlocks enrolment.
Spanish Bachillerato students: the PAU in June
Spanish Bachillerato students enrol at Esade only after passing the university entrance exam. The admissions page lists the PAU successfully passed (mid-June), and the requirements page adds that you must pass your first PAU/ EBAU/EvAU examinations in June to be able to enroll at Esade. Retake exam scores will not be considered.
Esade says: We do not require that students take any specific subject for the Fase Voluntaria of the PAU/ EBAU/ EvAU, and adds that subjects related to the programme are highly recommended and valued during the admissions process. The admissions page also lists the payment of the remaining tuition fee as typically 75% of the total amount.
Esade tuition fees and how to pay them
The Esade tuition fees page lists a first-year price of €21,300 for each single bachelor and €24,500 for each double degree, and it names no academic year. Esade publishes one fee per programme.
The Esade tuition fees page lists one price for every single degree and one for every double degree, so the fee depends on the programme you choose. The table gives each programme's first-year figure.
Esade first-year fees by programme
| Programme | First-year tuition |
|---|---|
| Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | €21,300 |
| Bachelor in Law | €21,300 |
| Bachelor in Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order | €21,300 |
| Bachelor in Transformational Leadership and Social Impact | €21,300 |
| Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence | €21,300 |
| Double Degree in Business Administration and Law | €24,500 |
| Double Degree in Law plus Global Governance, Economics and Legal Order | €24,500 |
| Double Degree BBA plus Business and Artificial Intelligence | €24,500 |
| Double Degree in Business Administration and Global Governance | €24,500 |
Esade prices are set per year, and Esade notes that it may update annually their prices - but such increases shall not exceed the annual rate of inflation. Budget for later years at the first-year fee plus inflation. Programme length matters too: the BBA lasts 4 years, while the BBA and Global Governance double degree lasts 5 years.
How you pay Esade tuition
- Reserve your place: pay 25% of the tuition fees for the first academic year in advance. Esade refunds this only if you fail the last year of high school or the university entrance exam.
- Pay the rest: the pending 75% of tuition fees, which the admissions page places in mid-June.
- Matriculate: Esade calls it essential to complete the matriculation process by the date indicated by the Registrar's Office (at the start of July).
Part of every Esade fee funds aid: Fundació Esade therefore pays 4% of all tuition fees into the Esade Scholarship Fund. The scholarships chapter covers how to apply for it.

Esade offers need-based scholarships, led by the Talent Scholarship that covers from 100% to 60% of tuition fees for the academic year, and separate academic merit awards worth 25% to 100% of tuition fees. The scholarship and award pages name no cycle; this is what Esade publishes in October 2026.
Esade publishes two different success rates for scholarship applicants. The tuition fees page says 53% of our students who applied for a scholarship obtained one, while the scholarships page says 46% of undergraduate degree students who applied for an Esade scholarship obtained it. On its admitted-students page Esade reports €5.4M allocated to the Scholarship Programme, 295 students with scholarships and 86% average coverage of the programme cost.

The Esade academic criterion for degree scholarships is an average grade of 8.5 out of 10 or higher in the final two years of the Spanish Baccalaureate, or an equivalent: 33 out of 42 or higher in the IB, at least 16.2 out of 20 in the French Baccalauréat, or at least 85% of the maximum possible score in other systems. If you send the SAT as your admission test, Esade requires a minimum score of 1300.
The Esade economic criterion looks at the whole family situation, including family income up to a maximum of €118,000 gross/year considering a family of 4 people, plus securities and real estate. The Lodging Scholarship is open only if you live outside the Barcelona province, have a distinguished academic record and can show financial need.
Esade academic merit awards
The Esade Best University Access Grade Award is for Bachillerato Español students with a University Access Grade >= 9.5/10. To renew an Esade academic award you must pass all subjects and either rank within the top 40% of your class or reach an average of 8/10.
Esade lists reference grades for its merit awards, including IB: PG 39/42, French Baccalauréat: 17/20, US High School Diploma: GPA 3.6 or 92/100 and UK A-Levels: AAA* or AAA. You can combine an award with a scholarship or the Esade ISA as long as the total does not exceed 100% of the tuition fees of the year.
Esade ISA and student loans
- Income Share Agreement (ISA): covers the last two years of your Esade degree and, combined with a scholarship or award, can finance up to 90% of the total cost of your education.
- BBVA: a study loan for courses lasting more than two years, Available for Spanish citizens and residents.
- imagin: covers part of your academic expenses (up to €30,000), available exclusively to Spanish residents over 18 years of age.

Two of the three Esade-listed loans, BBVA and imagin, are limited to Spanish citizens or residents. If you apply from abroad, the Talent Scholarship, the merit awards and the ISA are the Esade options to plan around.
Accommodation for Esade students in Barcelona and Sant Cugat
Esade names two residences for its bachelor students, the Residencia Universitaria de Sarrià near the Pedralbes campus and the Roberto de Nobili residence with 180 comfortable individual rooms on the Sant Cugat campus, and says a room in a shared flat usually costs between 500 € and 700 € a month. The Esade housing page names no year; these are the figures Esade publishes in October 2026.
Esade does not run its own student housing in Barcelona: the Spanish version of the housing page says Esade no dispone de alojamiento propio para estudiantes en Barcelona, but offers guidance and resources. Esade lists three options, based on the experience of students in previous years: living on campus, other student accommodation in the city, and renting a shared apartment or room.
The two residences Esade names
The Sarrià residence is a new building, custom built as a student residence, close to the Esade Barcelona-Pedralbes campus. Esade notes that A bus service connects the residence with the Esade Sant Cugat campus, which matters if your programme is taught there.
The Roberto de Nobili residence sits on the Esade Barcelona-Sant Cugat campus. Besides its 180 comfortable individual rooms, it offers study halls, cleaning services, laundry and 24-hour domestic service. If you live outside the Barcelona province and show financial need, the Esade Lodging Scholarship covers 50% - 100% of the cost of living in either residence.
Shared flats and your monthly budget
Renting a room in a shared flat is the third Esade option. Based on current students' experience, Esade puts the rent of a room at between 500 € and 700 € a month. With utilities and other usual costs, Esade estimates a student's monthly budget in Barcelona at between approximately 1.350 € and 2.240 €.
Where the Esade campuses are

| Barcelona-Sant Cugat | Sant Cugat del Vallès, 22 kilometres from Barcelona, 40 minutes from the city centre | BBA (bilingual and 100% in English); Business and Artificial Intelligence; Law and Business Administration double degree in years 4th & 5th |
Choose a residence by campus: Sarrià suits the Pedralbes programmes, while Roberto de Nobili puts you on the Sant Cugat campus itself. If you take the Law and Business Administration double degree, your classes move from Pedralbes to Sant Cugat after the third year.
