University of Navarra admission for international applicants: tests, Spanish, fees and visa

You apply to the University of Navarra (UNAV) on the miUNAV portal, sit an admission test set by each Facultad or Escuela, and show legal access to Spanish university study through the PAU, UNEDasiss or homologación, depending on where you studied. The application period for curso 2027/2028 opened on 1 October 2026.

UNAV separates two things that applicants often mix up. The admission test is UNAV's own selection: La prueba de acceso es propia de cada Facultad o Escuela, so the test, its format and its dates differ by degree. The legal access requirement is a Spanish state rule about your school-leaving qualification, and it is a different document from the test.

International students no necesitarán realizar la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU) to enrol in official Grados, but they still have to complete one of the two credential routes in the table. The English-language UNAV page gives the same opening date: the admissions period for the 2027-2028 academic year began onOctober 1, 2026.

What a first year costs

The first-year prices UNAV publishes are for curso académico 2026-27, so treat them as the latest published prices and not as prices for curso 2027/2028. Tuition runs from 11.900,40 € for Magisterio de Educación Infantil to 20.400,00 € for Medicina. On top of tuition, se suman 95 euros in derechos de secretaría.

The University of Navarra lists Grados that run from Medicina (6 years, 360 ECTS) to four-year degrees such as Derecho (4 years, 240 ECTS), most of them on the Pamplona campus, with the Tecnun engineering degrees in San Sebastián. Several tracks carry an English-language label: International Program, Bachelor in or Bilingüe.

UNAV's Oferta de grados page gives each Grado its length in years, its size in ECTS credits, the Facultad or Escuela that teaches it and the campus. The table shows the Grados an international applicant is most likely to compare. Each row comes from that page.

Campuses

The Grados in the table are taught on two campuses. Medicina, Enfermería, Derecho, Arquitectura, Periodismo, PPE, Gestión Aplicada and the Economía + Derecho double degree sit on the Pamplona campus. The engineering degrees of Tecnun, UNAV's Escuela de Ingeniería, sit on the San Sebastián campus.

Bilingual and International Program tracks

UNAV offers some Grados in a version with an English-language label. These are the tracks named on its Grados list and on its first-year price list for curso 2026-2027, with the length or the tuition that those lists give:

• Medicina + International Program: 20.400,00 €, the same figure as plain Medicina.
• Enfermería + International Nursing Program: 14.900,40 €. On the Grados list it is a 4 year, 240 ECTS Grado at Pamplona.
• Administración y Dirección de Empresas + Data Analytics (Bilingüe): on the Grados list the ADE, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Program is 4 years, 249 ECTS.
• Ingeniería en Diseño Industrial y Desarrollo de Producto + Global Industrial Design Engineering Program: 4 years, 252 ECTS at San Sebastián.

Prices on this list are curso 2026-2027, the latest UNAV has published; they are not prices for curso 2027/2028. The English certificate each track asks for differs by Facultad, so read the English requirements chapter before you choose a track.

You apply to the University of Navarra in one online form on the miUNAV portal, where you request admission and attach your documents together; the processing fee listed for the Bachillerato route is 100 € and it is non-refundable. UNAV publishes the decision on the same portal.

UNAV puts the whole request in one place. After you register on the portal, el futuro alumno puede solicitar la admisión y adjuntar la documentación necesaria a través de un mismo formulario. The application period for curso 2027/2028 opened on 1 October 2026.

Documents to attach

For the route that combines a Bachillerato with the PAU, UNAV lists these documents:

• calificaciones de 1º de Bachillerato o equivalentes (the penultimate year of school, institute or high school);
• one passport-style photograph (una fotografía tamaño carné);
• a photocopy of the DNI, both sides;
• proof of payment of the 100 € processing fee, which UNAV marks as no reembolsables.

The grades UNAV asks for are those of 1º de Bachillerato or the equivalent, which is the penultimate school year. Later chapters explain how that mark combines with the admission test.

The processing fee and how to pay it

The processing fee is 100 € and it is not refunded. UNAV lists three ways to pay it: Tarjeta de crédito/débito, Transferencia bancaria a la cuenta indicada in the UNAV document, or the Plataforma de pagos Flywire.

Applying to more than one Grado, and double degrees

If you apply to several Grados, UNAV asks you to fill in the form once for each application, but you do not send the documents or pay the fee twice. The exception is a third application: En caso de solicitar la admisión a un tercer grado sí que debería realizar un nuevo pago de 100 €. A double degree needs only one request. UNAV's examples are Derecho + ADE and Periodismo + Filosofía, and for such programmes basta con enviar una sola solicitud.

What comes after the resolution

Admitted students deben abonar el primer pago de la matrícula, and the amount depends on the Grado: 500 €, 3.000 € o 5.500 €. UNAV does not refund it, except for justified force majeure, for failing the PAU (students who study in Spain) or, for international students, when the study visa is denied. The enrolment payments chapter gives the amount for each Grado.

The University of Navarra opened applications for curso 2027/2028 on 1 October 2026 and runs them in rounds. The December round closes on 9 December with the admission test on 12 December, and the March round closes on 9 March with the test on 13 March. Later rounds fill the places that remain.

One detail changes how you read every date below. UNAV's dates page prints each round as a day and a month, with no year, directly under its sentence El 1 de octubre de 2026 se abre el plazo de admisión para el curso 2027/2028. The dates in this chapter are therefore the rounds of that cycle, in the order UNAV lists them.

The December round

The December round is open to Todos los grados, with one exception: Medicina is open in December only to international students, and Spanish applicants to Medicina use the 9 March round. For students who study outside Spain, UNAV states that no se les requiere nota media específica in this round. International applicants to the Facultad de Medicina are the exception, and they need an average of 7 or higher. The same footnote says the December and March routes into Medicina for international students follow a specific format, which UNAV asks you to consult before you apply.

The March round

The March round is open to Todos los grados. Medicina asks for an average igual o superior a 7, and its test is held in the afternoon. For the other Grados UNAV lists the minimum average as not required.

The April and May to August rounds

These two rounds are for Grados con disponibilidad de plazas, so they exist only where a degree still has seats. UNAV lists the minimum average for both as No requerida (April) and No requerida (May to August). Tests run on Thursdays and the resolution follows on the Tuesday after the test. Because the places are limited, an applicant who aims for a popular Grado should use the December or March round.

Do the English pages give the same dates?

For the two rounds that matter most, yes. The English-language page states that admissions for the 2027-2028 academic year begin on October 1, 2026, lists the December test as Admission exam 12 DECEMBER and the March test as Admission exam 13 MARCH.

The University of Navarra selects its students with its own admission test, set by each Facultad or Escuela, which lasts aproximadamente 3 horas and counts for 40% of the admission mark in business, law, architecture and Tecnun engineering, against 60% for your 1º de Bachillerato mark. International applicants also have an interview with the Admission Service delegate in their country.

UNAV states the principle in one sentence: La prueba de acceso es propia de cada Facultad o Escuela. Its stated aim is to assess the capacities and aptitudes of the student. The test is not the Spanish PAU and it does not replace the legal access requirement for your qualification, which is covered in a separate chapter.

How the admission mark is built

Four Grados publish the same split: 60% your mark from Bachillerato (for most of them the 1º de Bachillerato mark, the penultimate school year) and 40% UNAV's test. The table shows where each statement comes from.

The ADE page words the mechanism like this: Haremos una media ponderada de tu nota de 1º de bachillerato (60%) y nuestra prueba de admisión (40%), and the Admission Committee of the Facultad then decides your application. Medicina uses different weights, which the Medicine chapter explains, so do not carry this split over to it.

Format, length and where you sit it

UNAV says the tests last aproximadamente 3 horas per student. When your application is complete, UNAV tells you the date, time and place: se comunicará la fecha, hora y lugar donde tendrá lugar la prueba de admisión. It publishes separate instructions for the on-site test and for the online test, so the test can be taken either way.

• On-site: bring your access credential number, which is in the email that calls you to the tests, and a Documento Nacional de Identidad (DNI) - Pasaporte (si no tienes DNI).
• Online: use the browser Google Chrome con la extensión “Proctorio” instalada y activada, and note the rule No se permite el uso de calculadora.

The interview with the delegate

Three of the pages above add an interview for applicants from abroad. For ADE the page lists an Entrevista con el delegado del Servicio de Admisión en su país. For Tecnun it states the same thing and adds that the delegate contactará con cada solicitante para concertarla. For Derecho the interview is with a professor of the Facultad or, for international students, with the delegate in their country, and it carries 20% de la nota of the Derecho admission exam.

Test, duration and weighting: what each page says

The Grado admission pages of UNAV say the following, as of October 2026. They name no admission cycle, so read them as the pages' current statements and not as a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• Who sets the test: La prueba de acceso es propia de cada Facultad o Escuela, and the tests have a duración aproximada de 3 horas por alumno.
• ADE: media ponderada de tu nota de 1º de bachillerato (60%) y nuestra prueba de admisión (40%).
• Derecho: media ponderada de tu nota de 1º de bachillerato (60%) y nuestra prueba de admisión (40%).
• Tecnun (Grado en Ingenierías en Tecnologías Industriales): un 60% la nota de 1º de Bachillerato y un 40% el resultado de las pruebas de admisión.
• Estudios de Arquitectura: La prueba de acceso tiene un valor del 40% de la calificación final, y la nota media de Bachillerato, el 60%.

The ADE admission test at the University of Navarra is a Mathematics test with 60 preguntas (50 %), a business case worth 40% and a reasoning test worth 10 %, taken fully online if you live outside Spain. The Derecho exam combines a general knowledge test worth 50%, a critical commentary worth 30% and an interview worth 20%.

ADE and Economía: the test

The ADE page tells applicants who do not live in Spain that la prueba de admisión se realizará completamente online (a menos que prefieran venir presencialmente). The Economía page uses the same sentence and lists the same Mathematics test of 60 preguntas (50 %). UNAV also states that todos los candidatos hacen la misma prueba, independientemente del grado o diploma seleccionado, whichever Grado or diploma you select.

Your Spanish is checked too, but the result does not decide anything: the prueba de nivel de español (es solo diagnóstico: no cuenta para la nota de admisión). The test then enters your overall admission mark together with your Bachillerato mark, as the admission test chapter explains.

Derecho and Relaciones Internacionales

The Derecho page splits the exam into parts. The test evalúa conocimientos generales aplicados a lecturas y textos de actualidad, with questions on contemporary world history, philosophy, economics and Spanish language and literature. A separate English test is part of the exam, and international students also take a Spanish level test: Prueba de inglés y, para los alumnos internacionales, prueba de nivel de español.

UNAV orders applicants by overall score: El orden de admisión es el del baremo elaborado a partir de la calificación global de cada alumno. For Relaciones Internacionales, the page says that to be admitted deberás superar un examen y una entrevista personal. It also states that the University's English test does not replace an official English title, because the official titles in its language requirements are indispensables para poder acceder al grado.

Which school subjects help

Derecho is open to every Bachillerato branch: se puede acceder desde todas las ramas del Bachillerato. UNAV recommends having studied History, Language and Literature, Economics, Philosophy or English. The ADE and Economía pages describe a profile instead of naming required subjects. ADE suits someone with interés en los negocios, la gestión de proyectos, el liderazgo and related fields, and Economía suits students with pensamiento analítico e interés por las matemáticas aplicadas.

These lines come from the ADE, Economía, Derecho and Relaciones Internacionales admission pages of UNAV, as of October 2026. The pages name no admission cycle, so they are current statements and not a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• ADE and Economía, residents outside Spain: the test se realizará completamente online (a menos que prefieran venir presencialmente).
• ADE test parts: Prueba académica de Matemáticas, tipo test, con 60 preguntas (50 %); Resolución de un caso económico-empresarial, que incluye contenidos de Filosofía (Ética) y comprensión lectora (Lengua) (40%); Test de razonamiento lógico, espacial y verbal (10 %).
• ADE interview: Entrevista con el delegado del Servicio de Admisión en su país, quien se pondrá en contacto.
• Economía test: Prueba académica de Matemáticas, tipo test, con 60 preguntas (50 %).

Tecnun engineering at the University of Navarra (the Grado en Ingenierías en Tecnologías Industriales) gives your admission test 40% of its criterion and your Bachiller marks the remaining 60%. Estudios de Arquitectura weights the same way, 40% for the test and 60% for your Bachillerato average, and its international test is a 60% multiple-choice paper plus a 40% personal portfolio.

Tecnun engineering

The details below come from the admission page for the Grado en Ingenierías en Tecnologías Industriales, taught at Tecnun in San Sebastián. Candidates sit un examen que será presencial u online si viven en España o en otro país europeo, o bien online si viven fuera de Europa. The test is 40% of the admission criterion and el 60% restante son las notas de Bachiller (o equivalente).

For students outside Spain the page lists three tests:

• Prueba tipo test de cuestiones académicas de Bachillerato de Física y Matemáticas;
• Prueba tipo test de razonamiento lógico y numérico;
• Prueba de nivel de español y de inglés.

The Mathematics paper has a stated format: Examen tipo test. No se permite el uso de calculadora. Nivel: 1º de bachillerato. The ranking can ask for more in some cases: En algunos casos se pueden pedir notas de 2º de Bachillerato o se realiza una entrevista personal con el candidato. Students who study in a country outside the EU face one more step, because también haremos una valoración de competencias profesionales. The page does not describe that assessment further.

Tecnun rounds and legal access

Tecnun runs two rounds: el primero en diciembre, para quienes en 1º de Bachillerato tienen una nota media igual o superior a 7, and the second in March for all other candidates. As at every UNAV Grado, the test is not the legal access route: future students tienen que ser admitidos en el sistema universitario español a través de la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU) o bien de la acreditación correspondiente.

Estudios de Arquitectura

The Architecture page states the overall rule first: La prueba de acceso tiene un valor del 40% de la calificación final, y la nota media de Bachillerato, el 60%. The test itself depends on where you live, as the table shows.

The portfolio instructions arrive after you apply: Las indicaciones del Portfolio se enviarán al solicitar la admisión. International applicants also take a Spanish level test. If you fail it, será necesario acreditar un nivel B2 de español.

Tecnun and Architecture: more of what the pages say

These lines come from the Tecnun (Grado en Ingenierías en Tecnologías Industriales) and Estudios de Arquitectura admission pages of UNAV, as of October 2026. The pages name no admission cycle, so they are current statements and not a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

The University of Navarra admits Medicina applicants through three routes: an on-site test in Pamplona, the ISAT exam plus a Faculty online test in English, or IB predicted grades of at least 37 points. A candidate who qualifies for several routes must choose one, and both test routes need a 1º de Bachillerato mark of 7 puntos sobre 10 or higher.

Medicina has its own rules, separate from the weighting used by the other Grados. Candidates need el título de Bachillerato (preferiblemente biosanitario) o el equivalente (high school), and the PAU where Spanish law requires it. UNAV's Medicina page puts it plainly for candidates who fit more than one route (for example a Spanish or international student who took the IB): deberán elegir y aplicar a través de una única vía de acceso. You can apply to el Grado en Medicina o el Grado en Medicina + International Program.

The on-site test

The exam consists of una prueba académica, tipo test, conformada por 150 preguntas in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus a reading comprehension test. The parts count biología 30%, química 30%, física 25% y comprensión lectora 15% of the exam mark. The exam mark is then 70% of your final admission mark and your average over the official subjects of 1º de Bachillerato is the other 30%.

The ISAT and the Faculty online test

This route is for students who cursen sus estudios de 2º Bachillerato (o equivalente) en un centro académico con sede fuera de España, independientemente de su nacionalidad. It consists of la realización del examen ISAT y una prueba online de la facultad en inglés. UNAV accepts ISAT results from las convocatorias de enero, julio/agosto o las de octubre/noviembre.

The Faculty paper is una prueba académica en inglés, tipo test, conformada por 150 preguntas in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. If Spanish is not your native language, se realizará una prueba de español online. The Faculty may also interview you: la Facultad podrá realizar una entrevista al candidato si lo considera necesario.

The IB route

To apply with the IB you must present una puntuación predictiva de, al menos, 37 puntos and como mínimo, 6 en Biología HL y 6 en Química HL. The process ends with a personal interview: Superar una entrevista personal con el Servicio de Admisión. A positive resolution is conditional, and your final grades must confirm the same requirements: Este proceso deberá realizarse antes del 10 de julio de 2027.

The deposit that secures a place

Admitted candidates pay 5.500 euros en concepto de primer pago de matrícula, which is deducted from the final tuition and is refunded only if the PAU is failed. IB candidates with a conditional admission make un pago único de 5.500 euros, refunded only if the minimum final grades are not reached. International applicants to Medicina in the December or March round need an average of 7 or higher, and the International Program track asks for unos requisitos de nivel de inglés concretos, covered in the English chapter.

More Medicina statements on the admission page

UNAV's Medicina admission page says the following, as of October 2026. It names no admission cycle, so these are the page's current statements and not a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• Qualification: título de Bachillerato (preferiblemente biosanitario) o el equivalente (high school).
• On-site route: nota final en 1º de Bachillerato (o equivalente) igual o superior a 7 puntos sobre 10; the exam is una prueba académica, tipo test, conformada por 150 preguntas (más seis preguntas de reserva) de Biología, Química y Física, weighted biología 30%, química 30%, física 25% y comprensión lectora 15%; the final mark is 70% admission exam and 30% 1º de Bachillerato average.
• ISAT route (school outside Spain): nota final en 1º de Bachillerato (o equivalente) igual o superior a 7 puntos sobre 10; the route is la realización del examen ISAT y una prueba online de la facultad en inglés; the Faculty test is una prueba académica en inglés, tipo test, conformada por 150 preguntas; the final mark is 30% ISAT, 40% Faculty exam and 30% 1º de Bachillerato average.
• Spanish and interview on the ISAT route: se realizará una prueba de español online sólo en el caso de que la lengua nativa del candidato no sea el español; la Facultad podrá realizar una entrevista al candidato si lo considera necesario.
• IB route: una puntuación predictiva de, al menos, 37 puntos and como mínimo, 6 en Biología HL y 6 en Química HL; admitted IB candidates no tienen que hacer la prueba de acceso ni que presentarse al examen ISAT.

With the IB Diploma you can enter the University of Navarra without the specific admission test if your predicted score reaches the minimum for your Grado, which runs from 30 points in Derecho to 37 in Medicina. The admission is conditional, and you must reach the required score in your final diploma results.

UNAV describes the IB route as a way into the University sin realizar el examen específico de admisión si se cumplen los requisitos. The same page says that to enrol you must request the UNED accreditation. The minimum is set per Grado and per Centro, and it is measured on la nota predictiva del alumno (después de haber cursado el primer curso del Diploma IB).

Minimum IB score per Facultad

The table lists the minimum total and the subject grades UNAV prints for each Centro. A figure such as 6/5 appears in the page as SL/HL, so check the level of your subject against it. UNAV prints these minimums without naming an admission cycle.

Medicina has its own IB rules, covered in the Medicine chapter, and it adds a personal interview and a deadline of 10 de julio de 2027 for the final grades. For Creación Audiovisual the page adds: todos los solicitantes nacionales e internacionales que acceden por vía IB deberán realizar la prueba de diagnóstico de nivel de español.

If your final IB score falls short

If you do not reach the required score and are not admitted, you podrá realizar una instancia por el Portal miUNAV en Ayuda/Contacto, asking UNAV to reconsiderar su admisión por vía de pruebas de admisión, excepto en la Facultad de Medicina que no es posible. For every Grado other than Medicina, a shortfall therefore still leaves you the option to ask for a review through the admission tests, which UNAV decides.

What the IB page prints per Centro and for the process

The IB page of UNAV says the following, as of October 2026. It does not name an admission cycle, so read these lines as the page's current statements and not as a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• Medicina (Facultad de Medicina, all Grados): a minimum IB total of 37, with HL Biología 6 and HL Química 6.
• Tecnun (all engineering Grados): 34 points, with HL Matemáticas 6 and SL Física 5.
• Económicas y Empresariales (all Grados): 34 points, with SL/HL Matemáticas 6/5.
• Enfermería (all Grados): 32 points, with HL Biología y Química 5 5.
• Derecho: 30 points. Relaciones Internacionales: 30 points.
• Estudios de Arquitectura: 33 points, with SL Física 5.
• Biología: 30 points, with HL Biología 5. Farmacia: 30 points, with SL/HL Química 6/5.
• Diseño: 30 points. Historia: 30 points.
• Gestión Aplicada (Applied Management): 32 points. Creación Audiovisual: 32 points.
• The route itself: the page describes admission sin realizar el examen específico de admisión, with an entrevista desde el Centro solicitado for those who reach the predicted score, and for students who study outside Spain an entrevista con el delegado de la Universidad en su país. The offer is admisión condicionada to the final IB score.

International applicants to the University of Navarra do not sit the PAU. Instead, a diploma from an EU school system, the IB Diploma or a European Baccalaureate needs the UNEDasiss accreditation, and a diploma from outside the EU needs the homologación credential, which carries a fee of 49,76 €.

The PAU, UNEDasiss and homologación are the legal access requirement for Spanish university study, not UNAV's own selection. The admission test is a separate step. UNAV says that los alumnos internacionales no necesitarán realizar la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU) to enrol in official Grados, but they must complete the route that matches their school system.

Who must pass the PAU

The PAU applies to todos los estudiantes españoles procedentes de 2º de Bachillerato who apply to any official Grado of UNAV. For Medicina, Enfermería and Psicología there is a stricter rule: los estudiantes deberán aprobar la PAU en 1ª convocatoria. Because that rule belongs to the PAU, it concerns Spanish students and not international applicants.

The UNEDasiss accreditation

UNEDasiss is an accreditation issued through the Spanish UNED. The UNAV instructions say it is requested online, on the UNEDasiss site by choosing Solicitud online and registering as a new user. The UNAV document is headed Curso académico 2024-25, so confirm the current steps on the UNED site before you start.

• Documents: Fotocopia compulsada del título o diploma correspondiente (IB, A Level o Bachillerato Europeo) and a certified copy of the grades of the last two years equivalent to Bachillerato.
• Language: La documentación si no está en español debe estar traducida (no hace falta que sea por un traductor jurado).
• IB Diploma: El Diploma IB es un documento suizo que no requiere apostilla; you present only a certified copy at the Spanish embassy or consulate.
• Timing: Fecha de inscripción abierta todo el año.

Diplomas from outside the EU: homologación

The homologación instructions are written para los alumnos que no han cursado un bachillerato europeo o Bachillerato Internacional (IB). They ask for a signed application and a signed conditional enrolment form (Solicitud de homologación (firmada); Volante de inscripción condicional (firmado)), the fee of 49,76 €, and transcripts with subjects and marks for los últimos 3/ 6 cursos de bachillerato (según el país). Those documents deben estar legalizados y apostillados ante notario.

If you hold only the volante when you enrol, UNAV enrols you on a conditional basis: matrícula condicionada a que antes del 1 de abril del año siguiente aporten la credencial original at the University's general offices.

Legal access: what UNAV prints per qualification

UNAV's Grado admission page, its enrolment page and its homologación instructions say the following, as of October 2026. The three UNEDasiss lines about the IB Diploma and the European Baccalaureate come from a UNEDasiss PDF that is headed Curso académico 2024-25, so check the current steps on the UNED site.

• Spanish 2º de Bachillerato: the PAU is requisito indispensable para todos los estudiantes españoles procedentes de 2º de Bachillerato; for Medicina, Enfermería and Psicología students must aprobar la PAU en 1ª convocatoria.
• International students: no necesitarán realizar la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU).
• EU school systems (A Levels, Abitur, Baccalauréat): deben solicitar la Acreditación UNEDasiss.
• IB Diploma: deben solicitar la Acreditación UNEDasiss; the UNEDasiss PDF lists Estudiantes que han cursado el Diploma IB among its users, and says the IB Diploma no requiere apostilla.
• European Baccalaureate: the UNEDasiss PDF lists Estudiantes que han cursado un Bachillerato Europeo among its users.
• UNEDasiss documents: Fotocopia compulsada del título o diploma correspondiente (IB, A Level o Bachillerato Europeo).
• Systems outside the EU: credencial de homologación del título de Bachiller o el volante que acredita que lo han solicitado; the homologación instructions say the transcripts Deben estar legalizados y apostillados ante notario.
• Enrolment without the document: without the UNEDasiss accreditation, tu matrícula será provisional, y estará condicionada a que la aportes antes del 31 de octubre; without the Bachiller application receipt, tu matrícula será provisional y estará condicionada a que lo aportes antes del 31 de octubre; with only the receipt, antes del 1 de abril del año siguiente aporten la credencial original.

The bilingual and International Program Grados at the University of Navarra ask for an English certificate, and the minimum depends on the Facultad: TOEFL 95 for Medicina + International Program, TOEFL 80 for the Economics and Business bilingual Grados, and TOEFL 72 for Enfermería + International Nursing Program. These figures come from UNAV's faculty PDFs for curso 2026-2027, the latest published, and the upload deadline in them was 8 de junio de 2026.

UNAV publishes one PDF per Facultad, and the rules differ in the level, in the exemptions and in what happens when you miss the deadline. Do not assume that a rule from one Facultad applies to another. Read the row for your Grado in the table, then the exemptions.

In the Law PDF the two RRII columns are flattened into one line, so the table reads the lower level as RRII and the higher level as RRII with Diplomas and double degrees, in the order the PDF prints them. For the Derecho Grados there is a Spanish rule as well: students whose schooling or mother tongue was not Spanish must show el nivel B2 de DELE.

Nursing adds a grade condition: to enter that programme in curso 2026-2027 you needed una nota media de 1º de bachillerato o equivalente de 7 puntos sobre 10. That is an admission minimum for the programme, not an English rule.

Exemptions from the certificate

• Medicina + International Program: an IB Diploma with Language A English: 6SL o HL or Language B English: 7 SL o HL, or A Level English Language: B, English Literature: B.
• Enfermería + International Nursing Program: if you reach the required level in the admission test, no es necesario presentar ningún documento adicional. An IB Diploma with Language A2 English: 5SL is also listed.
• Economics and Business bilingual Grados: an IB Diploma with Language A English: HL: 5 o SL:6 or Language B English SL/HL: 6, a double Bachillerato with one of the 2 años taught in English, or an English-speaking school with 80% de las asignaturas en inglés certified by the school. This PDF alone adds: si la lengua materna es inglés no es necesario acreditar mediante título/certificado.
• Tecnun, Computing and AI Engineering: an IB Diploma with Language A2 English: 5SL, or an international school where the 2 años de bachillerato were taught in English.

The deadline and what happens if you miss it

The upload deadline in the curso 2026-2027 PDFs was 8 June 2026, which has passed. The consequence differs by Facultad:

• Medicina: si no se presenta el certificado, los candidatos serán admitidos en el Grado en Medicina, the version without the International Program.
• Enfermería: students who cannot show the level before 8 de junio deberán matricularse en el grado de Enfermería en castellano.
• Economics and Business: el candidato será transferido al Grado en Administración de Empresas + Dirección General & Estrategia.
• Law: students who cannot show the level before 8 de junio can cumplimentar una instancia por el Portal miUNAV.
• Tecnun: students can file an instancia para mantener la plaza en el grado bilingüe through miUNAV Ayuda/Contacto.

English certificates: what each faculty PDF lists

The Medicina and Económicas PDFs say the following as of October 2026. The Enfermería, Relaciones Internacionales and Tecnun PDFs are those of curso 2026-2027, the latest published. None of them is a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• Medicina + International Program: TOEFL 95, IELTS 7 or Cambridge ADVANCED CERTIFICATE. Exemptions: Language A English: 6SL o HL or Language B English: 7 SL o HL in the IB, or A Level English Language: B English Literature: B.
• Economics and Business bilingual Grados: TOEFL 80, IELTS 7.0 or Cambridge ADVANCED CERTIFICATE (180). Exemptions: Language A English: HL: 5 o SL:6 in the IB, an English-speaking school with 80% de las asignaturas en inglés (certificado por el centro), or, Si la lengua materna es inglés no es necesario acreditar mediante título/certificado.
• Enfermería + International Nursing Program (curso 2026-2027): TOEFL 72, or an IB Diploma with Language A2 English: 5SL; if you reach the level in the admission test, no es necesario presentar ningún documento adicional. The programme also asked for nota media de 1º de bachillerato o equivalente de 7 puntos sobre 10.
• Relaciones Internacionales and RRII + Diplomas, double degrees (curso 2026-2027): TOEFL 77 and 95 and IELTS 5.0 and 6.0, in the order the flattened PDF prints them, as the table above explains.
• Tecnun, Computing and AI Engineering (curso 2026-2027): TOEFL 72, or an IB Diploma with Language A2 English: 5SL.

The University of Navarra requires Spanish for every official Grado, and its general proof is DELE B2 from the Instituto Cervantes. You must certify your Spanish if it is not your mother tongue or if you studied your pre-university years in another language. Reaching the required level in UNAV's own admission test removes the need for the certificate.

UNAV states the principle for every degree: los conocimientos de Lengua Española son necesarios to enter any official Grado. Students must certify their level on the date UNAV indicates if they meet either of two conditions: que no tengan el español como lengua materna, or que hayan cursado estudios equivalentes al Bachillerato en una lengua distinta del español.

Can the admission test replace the certificate?

Yes, in the general rule. UNAV says that si el futuro alumno obtiene el nivel requerido de español al realizar la prueba de admisión no será necesario presentar el título oficial adicional, and miUNAV then does not ask for it. Individual Facultades add their own wording, so check the row for your Grado.

The PPE page still names the SAT Subject Test in Spanish with Listening, a test the College Board no longer offers, so plan on DELE B2 for that Grado. For the Communication Grados, Spanish C1 is the bar, and it is the level to aim at if you want Periodismo or Creación Audiovisual. Educación y Psicología puts the C1 level as a recommendation, not a condition.

Where to reach the level

Applicants who do not reach the minimum are not left without an option: pueden inscribirse si lo desean, en los cursos de verano del ILCE, the University's institute for Spanish language and culture.

Spanish: more of what the pages say

UNAV's admission pages say the following, as of October 2026. The Derecho line comes from the curso 2026-2027 Law PDF, the latest published. None of them is a confirmed rule for curso 2027/2028.

• All official Grados: Para el ingreso en cualquiera de los grados oficiales de la Universidad los conocimientos de Lengua Española son necesarios.
• Who must certify: students que no tengan el español como lengua materna or que hayan cursado estudios equivalentes al Bachillerato, que dan acceso a los estudios universitarios, en una lengua distinta del español.
• The general certificate: DELE B2; and no será necesario presentar el título oficial adicional if you reach the level in the admission test.
• Derecho (curso 2026-2027 PDF): nivel B2 de DELE. Estudios de Arquitectura: nivel B2 de español if you fail the Spanish test. Gestión Aplicada: nivel de español (B2) if the level is not reached in the admission test.
• Communication and Marketing, shown by a University test: Periodismo asks for nivel de español C1 o similar y de inglés B2 o similar; Creación Audiovisual for nivel de español C1 o similar; Marketing for nivel de español B2 o similar y de inglés B2 o similar.
• Educación y Psicología: for international applicants the page recommends nivel C1 de español.
• PPE: for international students whose mother tongue is not Spanish, DELE B2 (Instituto Cervantes), o el SubJect Test in Spanish with Listening del SAT.

First-year tuition at the University of Navarra runs from 11.900,40 € for Magisterio de Educación Infantil to 20.400,00 € for Medicina, plus 95 euros in derechos de secretaría. These are the prices of curso académico 2026-27, the latest UNAV has published, and they are not prices for curso 2027/2028.

UNAV prices a Grado per ECTS credit and shows the total for the first year. The table lists the Grados an international applicant is most likely to compare. The same figure applies to Medicina with or without the International Program, and to Enfermería with or without the International Nursing Program.

Extra charges and later years

On top of tuition, UNAV states: Al importe de la matrícula, se suman 95 euros (derechos de secretaría). The application fee and the first enrolment payment are separate and are covered in their own chapters. Prices for later years are published in a separate document headed Precios de cursos superiores del curso académico 2026-2027, so do not assume that your first-year price repeats.

Do the English pages give the same figures?

Yes. The English-language price page is headed academic year 2026-27 prices, and its figure for Biomedical Engineering is 272,50 € 16.350,00 €, the same as on the Spanish page.

After admission, the University of Navarra asks for a first enrolment payment of 500 €, 3.000 € o 5.500 €, depending on the Grado, and it is not refundable except for justified force majeure, a failed PAU for students in Spain or, for international students, a refused study visa. Medicina is at the top of the range: its first payment is 5.500 euros.

UNAV words the rule this way: los estudiantes admitidos deben abonar el primer pago de la matrícula en el grado que van a cursar. The refund exceptions are narrow: the amount no es reembolsable salvo causa mayor justificada, por no haber superado la PAU quienes estudian en España o, en caso de los internacionales, por denegación del visado de estudios en su país.

Enrolment period and documents

UNAV's enrolment page names no curso. Its instalment dates fall between October 2026 and February 2027, which places the page in the 2026-2027 enrolment cycle, so read the dates below as that cycle's calendar. For students who enter a Grado, the enrolment period is del 16 de abril al 31 de mayo. Everyone uploads Documento Nacional de Identidad o pasaporte (no españoles). Fotografía tamaño carnet. The other documents depend on your legal access route:

• PAU route: upload the PAU card antes del 1 de julio. If you have not yet passed the PAU you have hasta el 20 de septiembre, except in the Grados that need a pass in the first sitting (Medicina, Enfermería y Psicología).
• UNEDasiss route: para estudiantes que han realizado los estudios de Bachillerato siguiendo el sistema educativo de un país de la Unión Europea and for holders of the IB Diploma. Without the accreditation, tu matrícula será provisional, y estará condicionada a que la aportes antes del 31 de octubre.
• Homologación route: para quienes que han estudiado los últimos años de colegio mediante un sistema educativo externo a la Unión Europea. Without the application volante, tu matrícula será provisional y estará condicionada a que lo aportes antes del 31 de octubre.

Payment methods and instalments

For Spanish students, the minimum payment is made por transferencia, tarjeta de crédito/débito o domiciliación bancaria, and direct debit needs an IBAN: Tienes que facilitar el IBAN de una cuenta bancaria de la zona SEPA. Students who live in Spain can also use a bank loan that lets them pay tuition hasta en 10 mensualidades iguales.

Students who live outside Spain have their own plan: el importe pendiente de la matrícula se abona en 4 plazos sin intereses by credit card. The page splits it into four equal parts of 25%, due as follows.

These instalment dates belong to the 2026-2027 enrolment cycle. Treat them as the pattern of that cycle, not as dates for curso 2027/2028.

The University of Navarra funds students through Becas Alumni, which require a Bachillerato average of at least 8,50 puntos sobre 10, and through the Programa de Ayudas, which asks for 7 puntos sobre 10 in 1º de Bachillerato and a family income test. UNAV names curso 2027-2028 in the rules of both programmes, and the first Becas Alumni deadline is 12 de diciembre de 2026.

Becas Alumni

UNAV describes the programme as one that permite que estudiantes con excelente expediente académico en bachillerato y dificultades económicas puedan estudiar en la Universidad de Navarra. The amount is personal: el importe de beca es personalizado, and UNAV considers tuition, housing, other grants you will receive and the family effort. The call is for the XXIII Edición ... correspondiente al curso 2027-2028, and the grant is conditional on the average: una nota media mínima de 8,50 puntos sobre 10 in Bachillerato or equivalent studies, obtained or expected.

Programa de Ayudas and the Plan de incentivación

The Programa de Ayudas is for alumnos con buen expediente académico y que acrediten una necesidad económica. Its conditions are a minimum average of 7 puntos sobre 10 en 1º de Bachillerato and a family income per capita in 2025 of no superior a 25.000€. You must also completar una solicitud de admisión en primer curso de estudios de Grado en la Universidad de Navarra para el curso académico 2027-2028, solicitando también un Estudio de Coste y Becas.

The Estudio de Coste y Becas tells you the real price during your application: se informa del importe a pagar: puede ser el precio ordinario o uno personalizado y más ventajoso, a través de descuentos o gracias al Plan de incentivación. The Plan de incentivación asks for una nota media mínima de 7 puntos en 1º de Bachillerato o equivalente, si bien en algunas titulaciones puede exigirse una nota media superior.

Scholarships by Facultad, country and family

• Medicina: the Programa de Becas Prof. Jiménez Vargas gives 5 becas a alumnos de primer curso each year and can cover hasta el 70% del coste de la matrícula. UNAV asks for a Bachillerato average (health-science branch) igual o superior a 9 and a per-capita income of at most 20.000 euros over the last two years.
• Tecnun: Becas al Talento Gipuzkoano for Tecnun students, plus a mobility scholarship programme (Programa de Becas a la Movilidad).
• Nicaragua: the Becas Don Ernesto Fernández Holmann are for students from Nicaragua.
• Large families: las reducciones se calculan según el número de hijos matriculados en el mismo curso at the University and the position of each child in the family group.
• Matrícula de Honor: a reducción del 16% on first-year tuition for students who obtained it in 2º de Bachillerato. International students need the school to certify that the average is en el 5% de los mejores de su promoción.

UNAV also approved a descuento por pronto pago del 5% for admitted first-year students who paid the whole tuition by 10 de febrero de 2026. That date has passed and belongs to the 2026-2027 intake, so do not count on the same date for 2027.

The University of Navarra favours colegios mayores for housing and recommends CampusHome as a partner with more places, and it tells you to arrange housing in parallel with your application, without waiting for the admission result. Its visa kit puts housing and board at about 1.000€ al mes.

UNAV states its position clearly: la Universidad apuesta por los colegios mayores como opción de alojamiento. It also says that la Universidad recomienda CampusHome, su aliado estratégico, because of its values, its complementary role to the colegios mayores and its greater availability of places. For first-year students, un Colegio Mayor o un Club Universitario es muy recomendable.

When to apply for housing

Housing is not a step that follows admission. UNAV says that the choice debe llevarse a cabo en paralelo al proceso de admisión, and it advises you to visit the residence, register and, if needed, have the interview sin esperar a conocer el resultado de la solicitud de admisión en la Universidad. It also advises applying to several centres, because las plazas en algunos de ellos son limitadas y la demanda muy alta.

One fact changes how you deal with them: the Colegios Mayores son centros universitarios externos e independientes a la universidad. Registration with a residence therefore runs separately from your application to the University.

The Pamplona list on the page is longer than the three rows above, which show examples. Beyond the colegios mayores, existen otras alternativas de alojamiento, como las residencias universitarias o los pisos compartidos.

What housing costs

UNAV's housing page lists no prices for the colegios mayores and no guarantee of a place. The only figure it publishes is an approximate living cost in its student visa kit for curso 2026-2027: Alojamiento y manutención: 1.000€ al mes. Material de estudio: 500€. Treat it as a budgeting estimate for Pamplona and San Sebastián, not as a residence price.

If you do not hold an EU passport, you need a student visa to move to Spain, and you request it at the Spanish embassy in your country starting al menos 2 meses antes del comienzo de clases. The University of Navarra sends admitted students a welcome kit with the documents the visa needs. The details here come from the kit for curso 2026-2027.

UNAV's kit says it plainly: Si no tienes pasaporte de la Unión Europea, necesitas obtener un visado para poder trasladarte a España. The kit adds that debes ponerte en contacto con la embajada de España en tu país. Applicants who are minors follow a different path: si eres menor de edad tienes que ponerte en contacto con el consulado de tu país ya que el trámite es diferente.

Visa documents and medical insurance

The kit says it attaches todos los documentos requeridos para tramitar tu visado if you have no EU passport. For the medical insurance, the Admission Service proposes ACUNSA (Asistencia Clínica Universidad de Navarra).

What the University provides

The kit contains the carta de admisión y acreditación de alojamiento para el curso 2026-2027, the University's registration in the national register of universities, the Facultad brochure with the study plan and the academic calendar. It also includes a travel estimate: an international return flight is una cantidad cercana a los 1.200€ (ida y vuelta). The first enrolment payment is covered in the deposit chapter, and a visa refusal is one of the few reasons for which UNAV refunds it.

The University of Navarra suits an applicant who can sit its own admission test, can show Spanish for any official Grado, and can fund first-year tuition that ran from 11.900,40 € to 20.400,00 € in curso 2026-2027. The application period for curso 2027/2028 opened on 1 October 2026, and the first test round is on 12 December.

Who the University of Navarra fits

• You are comfortable with a Grado-specific selection. La prueba de acceso es propia de cada Facultad o Escuela, so the test you prepare for depends on the degree. Your school marks enter as well: in business, law, architecture and Tecnun engineering the split is 60% for your Bachillerato mark and 40% for the test, while Medicina uses different weights.
• You can work in Spanish, or you are ready to certify it. UNAV states that los conocimientos de Lengua Española son necesarios for every official Grado.
• You want a bilingual track and hold an English certificate. The Economics and Business bilingual Grados ask for one of Cambridge ADVANCED CERTIFICATE (180); LINGUASKILL C1; TOEFL 80; IELTS 7.0, and other Facultades set their own level.
• You are an IB student aiming high. The IB route lets you enter without the specific admission test, with a minimum predicted score per Grado, which is 37 puntos for Medicina.

Prices are those of curso académico 2026-27, the latest UNAV has published, and are not prices for curso 2027/2028. Scholarships, housing and the visa are covered in the chapters above.

What UNAV does not publish

UNAV's admission pages state no number of places per Grado, no cut-off marks (notas de corte), no admission rates and no applicant numbers. The tests described in this report are UNAV's own, and the only SAT mention is the Subject Test in Spanish named on the PPE page as a way to show Spanish, a test the College Board no longer offers.
