Paris-Saclay for international applicants: route, deadlines and fees

Paris-Saclay’s L1 Droit parcours Droit page lists French as the teaching language, and the university names no French test level. Future French bacheliers depend on the Parcoursup procedure, and, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, nationals of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra apply via Parcoursup for the first year of a Licence. Non-EU applicants without a French or European baccalauréat use Études en France if they live in a country covered by that programme; for applicants who live outside those countries, the page says they must complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1 (Dossier Blanc abroad, Dossier vert in France). The national Licence fee is EUR 178 for 2026-2027.

Université Paris-Saclay admission at a glance

Your route into a first-year Licence (L1) at Université Paris-Saclay depends on your diploma, your nationality and where you live. Future French bacheliers depend on the Parcoursup procedure, and, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, foreign students from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra apply via Parcoursup for the first year of a Licence. Non-EU applicants without a French or European baccalauréat use Études en France if they live in a country covered by that programme; for applicants who live outside those countries, the page says they must complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1, with the Dossier Blanc for applicants who live abroad. Paris-Saclay prints a national Licence fee of EUR 178 for 2026-2027, lists French as the teaching language on its L1 Droit parcours Droit page, and names no 2027 cycle on its own first-year pages.

Université Paris-Saclay was created in 2020. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, the university has 50 000 students, of whom 21% are international.

Route and teaching language

Paris-Saclay states that future French bacheliers depend on the Parcoursup procedure. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, foreign students from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra who want to enter the first year of a Licence apply via Parcoursup. Non-EU applicants without a French or European baccalauréat who reside in a country covered by the Études en France programme use that programme; for those who do not reside in such a country, the page says they must complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1. The page names two DAP files: the Dossier Blanc is for applicants who are not French nationals, do not hold and will not hold a French or European baccalauréat and live abroad; the Dossier vert is for the same applicants when they are currently resident in France.

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, the L1 Droit parcours Droit page lists French as its teaching language. On the L1 Droit parcours Law & Advisory page, the two Droit constitutionnel course units list the prerequisite “Bonne maîtrise du français”, a good command of French, and no Paris-Saclay first-year page sets a B2, DELF or other test level.

Which cycle the pages name

Paris-Saclay’s L1 Droit parcours Droit page prints a Parcoursup window of 19 January to 12 March 2026. That window is the Parcoursup 2026 cycle and is closed. One Paris-Saclay Parcoursup news page still says rentrée 2024. For the DAP, the international-applicants page says, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, that the request must be made between the November and January preceding the academic year in which you wish to start your studies in France.

Rankings the university reports

The positions below are the university’s own reports. Paris-Saclay says it ranks 13th in the world in the Shanghai ranking 2026. For the Shanghai subject ranking published in September 2026, Paris-Saclay reports 2nd in mathematics and a top-10 place in physics.

Paris-Saclay rankings: Shanghai, Times Higher Education and subjects

Université Paris-Saclay reports 13th in the world and first in France in the Shanghai ranking (ARWU) published on 15 August 2026 and 2nd in the world in mathematics in the Shanghai subject ranking (GRAS) published on 15 September 2026. Both positions are figures the university publishes about itself on its own news pages.

Each position below is a claim Paris-Saclay makes on its own news pages, and each is a result for the whole university, not for a single Licence.

Shanghai ARWU 2026

Paris-Saclay states that it ranks 13th in the world, first in France and first in continental Europe in ARWU 2026. The university adds that it has been in the top 20 of ARWU every year since its creation in 2020 (according to the university’s page as of October 2026). A news page of the university also cites 12th in the 2024 edition of ARWU.

Shanghai subject ranking (GRAS) 2026

For GRAS 2026, Paris-Saclay reports that it is ranked in 40 subjects, 8 of them in the top 50 worldwide. It is in the world top 10 in mathematics (2nd) and in physics for the fifth year in a row; the page gives no exact physics rank.

Agriculture is the lowest-placed of the listed subjects, at 41st in 2026. Paris-Saclay’s news page names these subjects as examples and does not list every ranked subject.

Times Higher Education and employability

Paris-Saclay’s news page also cites 64th in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The page gives no Times Higher Education 2026 position.

In the Global Employability University Ranking and Survey 2025 (GEURS), Paris-Saclay reports 50th, up 15 places from 2024. The ranking measures how employers rate graduates; it says nothing about admission to a Licence.

Nobel prizes and Fields medals: two counts on one page

The university’s key-figures page contradicts itself. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, its banner lists 10 Nobel prizes and 12 Fields medals, while the text of the same page lists 9 Nobel prizes and 11 Fields medals. The page does not explain the difference.

The undergraduate school and the graduate schools

When Paris-Saclay was created in 2020, the university set up two internal structures to support students from post-bac level to the doctorate: an undergraduate school and graduate schools. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, the Master and Doctorate offer is spread across the graduate schools and doctoral schools.

Paris-Saclay’s pages give two counts of graduate schools, according to the university’s page as of October 2026. The about page says 18 graduate schools and 21 doctoral schools. The page on the undergraduate school says 17 graduate schools plus the Institut des sciences de la lumière. The university does not reconcile the two on those pages.

Paris-Saclay acceptance rate and places

Université Paris-Saclay prints no overall admission rate for its Licences; its programme pages print a capacity (capacité d’accueil) instead. The L1 Droit parcours Droit page lists 510 places, the L1 Economie et Gestion page lists 170 and the L1 Droit parcours Law & Advisory page lists 30, each next to the Parcoursup 2026 window.

The figures below are capacities and selection statements for individual programmes. None of them describes the Licence as a whole.

Paris-Saclay’s programme pages print each capacity next to the Parcoursup window of 19 January to 12 March 2026, which was the Parcoursup 2026 cycle and has closed. These capacities belong to those three programmes only; the pages do not give a total for all Licences.

How selective the double-diploma Licences are

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, the LDD Mathématiques, Physique et Sciences pour l’Ingénieur page says its first-year target is final-year students of high potential, at the level of a “mention Très bien” at the Bac. The LDD Physique, Chimie page calls its programme “sélectif sur dossier dès le premier semestre”. These statements concern those two double-diploma programmes only.

The international share

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, 21% of Paris-Saclay’s students are international, a figure for the whole university rather than for first-year entrants.

How Paris-Saclay selects first-year students

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, a Parcoursup first-year application to Université Paris-Saclay is a file: each wish carries a fiche Avenir with teachers’ comments and the head teacher’s opinion for school pupils, the FAQ for French-bac applicants mentions a motivated project letter in the file, and each programme publishes its attendus and the criteria used to examine wishes.

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, Paris-Saclay’s Parcoursup page tells applicants to read the attendus and examination criteria of each programme before they choose. The first-cycle page’s FAQ for French-bac applicants to the first year mentions a motivated project letter among the items that complete the file once the Parcoursup wishes are confirmed. Nothing on these pages sets a French B2 or DELF threshold for the Licence; on the L1 Droit parcours Law & Advisory page, the two Droit constitutionnel course units list the prerequisite Bonne maîtrise du français.

Subjects and profiles named on programme pages

The programme pages name subjects, profiles and levels, according to the university’s page as of October 2026. Most are targets or recommendations, not entry thresholds, and Paris-Saclay’s pages publish no numeric grade threshold for the IB, A-levels or other certificates. Read the page of your own programme.

Tests for specific routes

For the LDD Physique, Chimie, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, the programme is selective on file from the first semester, and admission in the second semester, in L2 and in L3 is on file and interview. For health studies, Paris-Saclay states that access to medicine, midwifery, dentistry and pharmacy runs through two routes, PASS or L.AS. The health-studies page names no test for either route and gives no further PASS or L.AS detail. Two other programme pages describe how they select: the LDD1 Mathématiques-Sciences de la vie admits students on review of the file of grades and the motivations of the study project, and the Licence Sciences et Technologies selects its students on their motivation and with a concern for diversity. Neither page names an entrance test.

Language certificates

Paris-Saclay’s first-year pages name no DELF, DALF, TCF or other language certificate as an admissions test. Parcoursup or Études en France: your route by diploma

Your route into the first year (L1) of a Paris-Saclay Licence depends on your diploma, your nationality and where you live. Future French bacheliers depend on the Parcoursup procedure, and the Parcoursup page addresses final-year pupils and holders of the baccalauréat or an equivalent diploma. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, nationals of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra apply via Parcoursup for the first year of a Licence, non-EU applicants without a French or European baccalauréat who reside in a country covered by Études en France use that programme, and for those who do not reside in such a country the page says they must complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1: the Dossier Blanc for applicants living abroad and the Dossier vert for those resident in France.

Paris-Saclay’s international-applicants page gives these rules without naming an application cycle, so check the dates for your own cycle in the calendar chapter before you rely on a window.

Who applies through Parcoursup

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, foreign students who are nationals of an EU or EEA state, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra and want to enter the first year of a Licence must apply via Parcoursup. The Parcoursup page addresses final-year pupils and holders of the baccalauréat or an equivalent diploma, and the page for future French bacheliers states that they depend on the Parcoursup procedure. The LDD Economie, Mathématiques programme page adds that international students with an equivalent profile are encouraged to apply via Parcoursup; that statement comes from the programme page and is separate from the general international-applicants page.

Études en France and the DAP

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, a foreign student who is not a national of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra and has no French or European baccalauréat falls into one of two cases: the student resides in a country covered by the Études en France programme, or the student does not reside in a country covered by the programme and must then complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1.

For the second case, the page describes the Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP), with two files according to where you live (according to the university’s page as of October 2026):

Entering L2 or L3

For the LDD Sciences de la Terre et Sciences Physique, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, entry in the second year, and possibly the third, goes via eCandidat and asks for higher-education studies of a scientific CPGE type.

Admissions step by step: calendar for rentrée 2027

Paris-Saclay’s own first-year pages publish no calendar for rentrée 2027. They print the Parcoursup 2026 window of 19 January to 12 March 2026, which has closed. For the DAP, the international-applicants page says, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, that the request must be made between the November and January preceding the academic year in which you wish to start; it names no year.

Paris-Saclay’s Parcoursup news page still refers to rentrée 2024, and the programme pages show the 2026 window. Neither names the 2027 cycle, so confirm the dates for your intake on the Parcoursup site before you plan around a window.

  • According to the university’s page as of October 2026, Paris-Saclay’s Parcoursup page invites pupils to its open days (January - March) and names no year.
  • On Parcoursup you can make up to 10 wishes, with no ranking between them.
  • For French-bac applicants, Paris-Saclay’s FAQ mentions a motivated project letter in the file after the wishes are confirmed.

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, Paris-Saclay’s page for French-bac applicants says admission results go online during May without naming the year. The same FAQ adds that a French-bac applicant who has missed the Parcoursup deadline can still apply in the complementary phase on Parcoursup.

The DAP calendar

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, the DAP request must be made between the November and January preceding the academic year in which you wish to start your studies in France. The Dossier Blanc is for applicants living abroad and the Dossier vert for applicants currently resident in France.

After admission: CVEC and administrative registration

Paris-Saclay states that every student in initial training must pay the student life and campus contribution (CVEC) to the CROUS before registering. For the school year 2026-2027 the page gives the CVEC as EUR 105. Administrative registration is compulsory, annual and personal, and its campaign opens in early July.

No Paris-Saclay page sets a B2 level for the Licence, and the university does not name DELF or DALF for the first year.

French for the Licence

The wording Paris-Saclay uses, “Bonne maîtrise du français”, is a prerequisite on the two Droit constitutionnel course units in the L1 Droit parcours Law & Advisory, not a certificate threshold. Because the page states no level, no test and no exemption, an applicant who wants a certificate-based answer has to ask the programme. According to the university’s page as of October 2026, Paris-Saclay also offers French courses for beginners and for people who want to improve their French on its international-students pages.

English and other languages in the Licence

Two double-diploma Licences name language skills. The LDD Physique, Chimie page asks for the ability to document oneself in a foreign language, preferably English, and to speak and write it at level B. The LDD Mathématiques, Physique et Sciences pour l’Ingénieur page lists, among its outcomes, communicating orally or in writing in English and French. These are programme-level skills, not an entry test with a score. The LDD Sociologie, Science politique page lists, among its selection criteria, a very good level of written and oral French, according to the university’s page as of October 2026. Three more programmes state language points: the LDD1 Droit-Informatique page says that a good level of French, oral and written, is needed; the Licence LEA is organised around two languages (English and Spanish) and foreign cultures; and the Licence Sciences de la vie includes a mandatory English course unit every year, which is part of the curriculum and not an entry test.

English-taught Master’s programmes

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, Paris-Saclay has a page titled Master’s programmes taught in English. The text of that page does not state an English level, and Paris-Saclay names no TOEFL or IELTS score for the first-year Licence.

According to the university’s page as of October 2026, a foreign student who has no French or European baccalauréat and is not a national of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra falls into one of two cases: the student resides in a country covered by the Études en France programme, or the student does not reside in a country covered by the programme and must then complete a Preliminary Request for Admission (DAP) to apply for the first year of a Licence 1. For the LDD Sciences de la Terre et Sciences Physique, first-year entry via Parcoursup is open to the bac général with the Mathématiques and Physique-Chimie specialities and/or Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre or to a holder of an equivalent foreign title.

For the Licence Chimie, the page lists, next to the Bac route, a successfully completed scientific bridging year (mise à niveau), according to the university’s page as of October 2026. A general statement on the site says that no predetermined set of equivalences between French and foreign degrees is officially recognized in France. Paris-Saclay’s pages print no list of accepted foreign diplomas and no numeric grade threshold for the IB, A-levels, Abitur or Matura.

Tuition fees and the CVEC

For 2026-2027 Université Paris-Saclay prints national registration fees of EUR 178 for a Licence, EUR 255 for a Master and EUR 398 for a Doctorate, plus a student life and campus contribution (CVEC) of EUR 105 for 2026-2027. Non-EU students subject to differentiated fees receive a partial exemption that Paris-Saclay says brings them to the national amount under the conditions of resolution CA-2026-013, and the university prints no differentiated amount.

These are the 2026-2027 amounts on Paris-Saclay’s fee page. Check the fee page for the rates of your own year before you budget.

Paris-Saclay states that the fees of national diplomas are set by ministerial decree. It applies a full rate to a first programme and a reduced rate to further programmes in the same institution, and allows payment in 3 instalments without charge, online and by bank card only, for students paying registration fees.

Non-EU students and differentiated fees

Paris-Saclay states that non-EU students concerned by differentiated fees receive a partial exemption. That exemption brings the differentiated amounts to the amounts for national students, under the conditions set by resolution CA-2026-013 of the Board on 3 February 2026. The university does not print the differentiated amount on its fee pages.

On the fee page, Paris-Saclay writes that the 2025-2026 fee-waiver procedure is closed and that the information note for 2026/2027 will be published soon. Check the note for your own year before you rely on the exemption.

CVEC and exemptions

Paris-Saclay’s registration page gives the CVEC as EUR 105 for the school year 2026-2027, payable to the CROUS before registration by each student enrolled in initial training in a higher education institution. You are exempt if you are a need-based grant holder, a refugee with subsidiary protection or an asylum seeker. The fee page also says you can be fully or partly exempt from registration fees by right, for example as a need-based grant holder.

Grant holders can be exempt from registration fees, as Paris-Saclay states on its fee page: exemption by right for need-based grant holders. Paris-Saclay’s pages do not set out CROUS eligibility rules; those sit on the CROUS sites.

International scholarships: Master and Doctorate only

Non-EU students subject to differentiated fees receive a partial exemption that Paris-Saclay says brings them to the national amount under the conditions of resolution CA-2026-013, and the university prints no differentiated amount.

When is the Paris-Saclay deadline for 2027 entry?
From the Paris-Saclay report · 08 Admissions step by step: calendar for rentrée 2027

Paris-Saclay’s own first-year pages publish no calendar for rentrée 2027. They print the Parcoursup 2026 window of 19 January to 12 March 2026, which has closed. For the DAP, its international-applicants page says, according to the university’s page as of October 2026, that the request must be made between the November and January preceding the academic year in which you wish to start; it names no year.
