Radboud University admission at a glance
To start a bachelor at Radboud University in Nijmegen in September 2027, you submit an enrolment application through Studielink, which takes registrations for the new academic year from 1 October, and you need a secondary school diploma that Radboud accepts as equivalent to the Dutch VWO. Programme pages name the 2027-2028 cycle: International Business Administration, for example, opened applications on 01 October 2026 and closes them on 01 April 2027.
Radboud University says it offers 13 Bachelor's programmes taught in English and many more in Dutch. The diploma is only the first gate: each programme adds its own requirements, such as English test scores, a mathematics level or, for the selective programmes, a selection procedure.
The deadlines page of Radboud University gives these dates without a year. The programme pages attach them to the 2027-2028 cycle, so check the page of your own programme before you plan.
Rules that catch international applicants out
- Non-EU/EEA applicants have the earliest regular deadline, 1 April, because the visa procedure needs time.
- Radboud lists five Bachelor's programmes with a maximum number of places for the 2027-2028 academic year. Their deadline is 15 January for all students, months before the others.
- All Bachelor's and Master's applicants with previous international education pay a non-refundable application fee of 100 euros.
- The Study Compatibility Check is part of almost all bachelor programmes, so plan time for it after you apply.
Radboud University does name the 2027-2028 intake. The non-Dutch diploma list states that it applies only to applications for the 2027-2028 academic year, the tuition page gives the statutory fee of € 2,771 for 2027-2028, and programme pages give 2027-2028 fees and application periods. The general deadlines page carries no year.

Radboud University rankings, history and reputation
Radboud University reports that, for the fifth year in a row, the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2026 ranks it the second best general university in the Netherlands. The Keuzegids compares Dutch universities and programmes with each other, so it says nothing about a position in THE, QS, ARWU or Leiden; those positions are in the publishers' own tables.
Radboud University keeps a rankings page with a dashboard of its results in the ARWU (Shanghai Ranking), QS, THE, CWTS Leiden and QS Sustainability tables for the editions from 2020 to 2027. For a position in a given edition, use the publisher's table for that year, not the university's summary.
Radboud in the Keuzegids Universiteiten
The Keuzegids Universiteiten is the Dutch guide that rates bachelor programmes. Radboud University reports two results from the 2026 edition:
- Second best general university in the Netherlands, for the fifth year in a row, according to the Bachelor's page of Radboud University.
- Seven bachelor's programmes with the designation 'top rated programme', for a score of 75 points or more, as in the previous year.
The Keuzegids rates Dutch programmes against each other, so it tells you how a Radboud bachelor compares with the same subject at other Dutch universities, not how it compares worldwide.
History of Radboud University
Radboud University was founded on 17 October 1923 under the name Catholic University Nijmegen. Its history page also records that Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, both professors by special appointment at Radboud University, were awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery of graphene.
Radboud University acceptance rate: numerus fixus places and open admission
Radboud University's admission pages give no acceptance rate and no count of bachelor applications or admits. What it does publish is the cap: for the 2027-2028 academic year five Bachelor's programmes have a maximum number of places, and every other bachelor admits each applicant who meets the admission requirements.
The Selection and placement regulations for 2027-2028 set the places per programme. Psychology has 615 places in total for its Dutch and English programmes, with one joint selection procedure.
| Programme | Places 2027-2028 (regulations) |
|---|---|
| Psychology (Dutch and English programmes) | 615 |
| Medicine (Geneeskunde) | 322 |
| Human Neuroscience (Humane Neurowetenschappen) | 175 |
| Biomedical Sciences (Biomedische Wetenschappen) | 100 |
| Dentistry (Tandheelkunde) | 72 |
The other bachelors: admission on requirements
Radboud University states that selection only happens when more students apply for a programme than there are places available, and its 2027-2028 regulations add that no selection procedure takes place when the number of applications is lower than or equal to the number of places. A Radboud bachelor without numerus fixus therefore has no ranking: you are admitted when your diploma, language and subject requirements are met.
Two counts on Radboud pages do not match. The numerus fixus pages name five programmes, while the filter of the bachelor's overview shows Numerus Fixus Yes 6 and No 46, and English 14 listings. For the number of capped programmes and their places in 2027-2028, the programmes and available places page and the 2027-2028 regulations are the documents that name the year.
In the Netherlands you may apply for a maximum of two numerus fixus programmes per year. Radboud University advises that when you apply for a numerus fixus programme, you also apply for a non-selective programme to maximise your chances.
How Radboud University selects: numerus fixus and the selection procedure
For September 2027 entry, Radboud University selects in Psychology on a matching assignment worth 60% and prior-education marks worth 40%, and in Biomedical Sciences and Medicine by unweighted draw. You register in Studielink for Psychology no later than 15 January 2027, and, according to the Psychology admission page, Studielink announces the ranking numbers via email on April 15.
The rules come from the Selection and placement regulations Bachelors 2027-2028, which Radboud University lists as valid from 01 October 2026 to 31 August 2028. Radboud's general numerus fixus page explains that you can apply for a numerus fixus programme for the following academic year from 1 October onwards and must do so by 15 January at the latest.
Psychology: matching assignment and prior-education marks
Psychology at Radboud University has a Dutch and an English track. You register in Studielink for either the Dutch or the English track no later than 15 January 2027, and both tracks share one selection. The 2027-2028 regulations say selection takes place on qualitative criteria, with a cognitive and a non-cognitive component, and that the study load for candidates is approximately four to eight hours. The Psychology page adds that all admissible students must take part in the selection process and be selected to begin the programme.
In Psychology the matching assignment counts for 60% of your total and the questionnaire on prior-education marks for 40%. The assignment therefore weighs more than your prior-education marks, and each of its four components has its own deadline.
Medicine and Biomedical Sciences: draw
For Biomedical Sciences and Medicine, the 2027-2028 regulations of Radboud University state that selection takes place on the basis of unweighted draw. In those programmes your ranking number comes from a lottery, not from a score.
Radboud University notes that the selection procedure differs for each programme. If you are (conditionally) admitted, you receive information by email about the selection process shortly after 15 January.
After your ranking number
- The Psychology admission page gives April 15 as the day Studielink announces the ranking numbers via email to all candidates.
- If you are offered a place, you accept or decline it in Studielink within two weeks; otherwise the place is forfeited.
- If a place becomes available after the first offers, Radboud University can still offer it to you; the very last day it can do so is 31 August.
- Non-EEA students send any additional mathematics or English certificates before 1 June because of the visa and residence permit application; EEA and non-EEA students have until 31 July to send in their diplomas.
Radboud University has a separate page on deviating from the Selection and Placement procedure, for applicants who cannot follow a step of the procedure. Read it before a deadline passes, not after.
Radboud University admission tests: selection tests, SAT/ACT and interviews
Radboud University does not ask for the SAT or ACT as an admission test for its bachelors. The SAT appears only on the mathematics requirements page, where a score of at least 600 (out of 800) on the mathematics section is one way to show the maths level for programmes such as Artificial Intelligence, International Business Administration and Psychology.
The SAT therefore never replaces your diploma at Radboud University. It only fills a gap when your school maths does not meet the programme's requirement, and the ACT is not named on the mathematics requirements page at all. The list of accepted tests differs per programme:
| Programme | What the mathematics requirements page accepts |
|---|---|
| Artificial Intelligence | SAT, minimum 600 (out of 800) on the mathematics section, among other tests |
| International Business Administration, Economics and Business Economics | SAT, minimum 600 (out of 800) on the Mathematics section, among other tests |
| International Business Communication | Online Mathematics Placement Test (OMPT), OMPT-A, OMPT-B or OMPT-E with a minimum score of 55% |
| Psychology | SAT, minimum 600 (out of 800) on the mathematics section, or the OMPT, OMPT-C or OMPT-E with at least 55% (OMPT-E recommended) |
| Chemistry, Computing Science, Natural Sciences, Molecular Life Sciences | Online Mathematics Placement Test OMPT-D with at least 55%; the SAT is not listed |
The International Business Administration page adds that certificates may not be older than two years, so an old SAT score may not count there. The full mathematics rules per programme are in the mathematics chapter of this report.
With a US high school diploma
For applicants from the United States, the 2027-2028 non-Dutch diploma list of Radboud University asks for a high school diploma plus 4 AP certificates (minimum grade 3 out of 5), or specific curriculum and GPA combinations assessed case by case. AP results, not the SAT, are what make a US diploma eligible.
Selection assignments in the numerus fixus bachelors
Psychology selects with a matching assignment and a questionnaire on your prior-education marks; the Psychology admission page lists four components of the Matching Assignment, with submission deadlines on February 14, 21, 28, and March 7. Medicine and Biomedical Sciences select on the basis of unweighted draw. The dates are in the selection chapter.
Does Radboud interview applicants?
The bachelor admission pages of Radboud University describe no admission interview. The only interview in the process is part of the Study Compatibility Check: step 3 is an invitation to a personal interview, not for all study programmes, and its purpose, in Radboud's words, is to assist you in choosing the right study programme. It is advice, not a selection round.
The Study Compatibility Check (matching) at Radboud University
The Study Compatibility Check is a questionnaire about your motivation, sometimes followed by a personal interview, that Radboud University runs after you apply for almost all bachelor programmes. Its outcome is advice, not a decision, but you must apply in Studielink by 1 May to take part in it at all.
Radboud University states that the Study Compatibility Check is part of almost all bachelor programmes. International programmes include it too: on the International Business Administration page it is step 3 of the application, and you receive login details for a digital questionnaire. The students who will not receive the check are those required to take part in a selection procedure.
When the Study Compatibility Check happens
The Study Compatibility Check page of Radboud University gives these dates without a year, so they repeat in each application cycle:
For the questionnaire, Radboud University asks you to have your transitional grades from the second last to the last year of your pre-university secondary education on hand, which it treats as equivalent to the grades from VWO 5 to VWO 6. Keep your school reports from that year ready when you apply.
Is the advice binding?
No. Radboud University says the advice is not binding but should be taken seriously. The real cost is in missing it: if you apply after 1 May, you cannot take part in the Study Compatibility Check and you are no longer entitled to advice about your choice of study. For a non-EU/EEA applicant, whose regular deadline is earlier, this rarely bites; for an EU/EEA applicant who waits for the later deadline, it does.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences version
The Faculty of Medical Sciences runs its own Study Compatibility Check: a short questionnaire you receive by email through OSIRIS after enrolment. Radboud University states that your answers will not affect your application or your position in the lottery. The 2027-2028 Selection and placement regulations also refer to the institution's Regulations Choice of Study Check (Regeling Studiekeuzecheck) for the case where a capped programme receives no more applications than it has places.
Radboud University admissions step by step: Studielink, Osiris and deadlines
You apply to a Radboud University bachelor in two steps: an enrolment application in Studielink, then your documents in OSIRIS Application, where you have 56 days to submit a complete application. For International Business Administration in 2027, applications opened on 01 October 2026 and close on 01 April 2027 for non-EU/EEA applicants and on 01 May 2027 for EU/EEA applicants who want the housing lottery.
Radboud's general deadlines page states that students can register for the new academic year from 1 October onwards and lists the deadlines below without a year. Programme pages attach years to them, so for your own programme the programme page is the one to follow.
Radboud University explains the earlier non-EU/EEA deadline: it is required to allow sufficient time to complete the visa application procedure, to arrange the transfer of sponsorship for a student already in the Netherlands, or to verify an existing Dutch residence permit. Plan your application around 1 April if you need a visa.
Studielink and OSIRIS Application
The application procedure for regular bachelors, according to Radboud University, consists of two steps: first an enrolment application in Studielink, then uploading documents in OSIRIS Application. In OSIRIS Application you have 56 days to upload your documents and submit a complete application. Two documents shape the decision:
- A signed and stamped transcript of grades for the past two years.
- A personal statement that contains, at least, a brief description of why you have chosen this specific Bachelor's programme and how it fits your previous education.
Student Admissions informs you by email about the admission decision within approximately 3 weeks after you have submitted the digital questionnaire, and the page names three possible outcomes. Submit the complete set early: the 56 days in OSIRIS and the application deadline both count.
The application fee for non-Dutch prior education
All Bachelor's and Master's applicants at Radboud University with previous international education pay a non-refundable application fee of 100 euros. You pay it only once per academic year, even if you apply for several Bachelor's or (pre-)Master's programmes at Radboud University.
After admission: enrolment and payment
Admission is not yet enrolment. Radboud University must be able to verify your documents before the enrolment deadline: 1 June for non-EU/EEA students, 31 July for EU/EEA students in a Numerus Fixus programme and 15 August for other EU/EEA students. If you choose to transfer the tuition fee to the university yourself or pay by credit or debit card, this must be done before 15 August.
Radboud University English language requirements for bachelors
Radboud University's minimum test scores page, as of October 2026, asks most English-taught bachelors for IELTS Academic with an overall score of at least 6.0 and all sub-scores of at least 6.0, or TOEFL iBT with at least 80 overall and all subscores at least 20. The science programmes and Philosophy, Politics and Society ask for more: IELTS 6.5 overall and TOEFL 90.
The minimum test scores page of Radboud University splits its English-taught bachelors into two groups. The standard group is American Studies, Artificial Intelligence, Arts and Culture Studies, Economics and Business Economics, English Language and Culture, International Business Administration, International Business Communication and Psychology. The higher group is Biology, Chemistry, Computing Science, Molecular Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Philosophy, Politics and Society.
| Test | Standard group | Higher group |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic (not IELTS Online) | Overall 6.0, all sub-scores 6.0 | Overall 6.5, all sub-scores 6.0 |
| TOEFL iBT (not Home Edition) | Overall 80, all subscores 20; or overall 4.5 on the new scale | Overall 90, all subscores 20; or overall 4.5 on the new scale |
| Cambridge C1 Advanced | Overall 169, all subscores 169 | Overall 176, all subscores 169 |
| Cambridge C2 Proficiency | Overall 180, all subscores 169 | Overall 180, all subscores 169 |
| PTE Academic (not Online) | Overall 61, all subscores 56 | Overall 61, all subscores 56 |
| LanguageCert Academic (not Online) | Overall 65; listening 59, reading 62, writing 65, speaking 68 | Overall 70; listening 59, reading 62, writing 68, speaking 68 |
On the new TOEFL scale, both groups need an overall 4.5 with reading and speaking at least 4 and listening and writing at least 4.5. Radboud University does not accept the TOEFL Home Edition, IELTS (Academic) Online, PTE Academic Online or LanguageCert Online, and it does not take TOEFL My Best Scores into consideration: one sitting has to meet every minimum.
Programme pages with a different TOEFL line
Some programme pages write the TOEFL line differently from the minimum test scores page. As of October 2026, the Psychology admission page asks for TOEFL iBT with an overall score of at least 80 and Reading and Speaking at least 4, Listening and Writing at least 4.5, which mixes the two scales. The minimum test scores page gives two complete alternatives instead: overall 4.5 with reading and speaking 4 and listening and writing 4.5, or overall 80 with all subscores 20. The American Studies, Arts and Culture Studies and English Language and Culture pages use the mixed line as well; if you apply to one of these programmes with TOEFL, ask Student Admissions which line applies. Their pages, as of October 2026, list:
- American Studies page: IELTS Academic, overall ≥ 6,0 and subscores ≥ 6,0; TOEFL iBT, overall ≥ 80 and subscores Reading and Speaking ≥ 4, Listening and Writing ≥ 4.5; PTE Academic, overall ≥ 61 and subscores ≥ 56; LanguageCert Academic, overall ≥ 65, listening ≥ 59, reading ≥ 62, writing ≥ 65, speaking ≥ 68; Cambridge C1 Advanced, overall ≥ 169, subscores ≥ 169; Cambridge C2 Proficiency, overall ≥ 180, subscores ≥ 169.
- Arts and Culture Studies page: IELTS Academic, overall ≥ 6,0 and subscores ≥ 6,0; TOEFL iBT, overall ≥ 80 and subscores Reading and Speaking ≥ 4, Listening and Writing ≥ 4.5; PTE Academic, overall ≥ 61 and subscores ≥ 56; LanguageCert Academic, overall ≥ 65, listening ≥ 59, reading ≥ 62, writing ≥ 65, speaking ≥ 68.
- English Language and Culture page: IELTS Academic, overall ≥ 6,0 and subscores ≥ 6,0; TOEFL iBT, overall ≥ 80 and subscores Reading and Speaking ≥ 4, Listening and Writing ≥ 4.5; PTE Academic, overall ≥ 61 and subscores ≥ 56; LanguageCert Academic, overall ≥ 65, listening ≥ 59, reading ≥ 62, writing ≥ 65, speaking ≥ 68.
Exemptions by diploma
For all English-taught bachelors, Radboud University's English language page, as of October 2026, accepts certain diplomas as proof of English, provided your previous education is considered equivalent to a Dutch VWO diploma. The pages describe no exemption by nationality: it is the diploma that counts.
- A Dutch pre-university Secondary Education diploma (VWO).
- A fully English-taught HBO Propaedeutic Certificate.
- A fully English-taught secondary school diploma from an accredited institution within an EU/EEA country.
- The IB Diploma: English-taught IB; or English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature at Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL) with a minimum grade of 4; or English B at Higher Level (HL) with a minimum grade of 6.
- A European Baccalaureate Diploma, which includes English Language 1 or English Language 2.
- United Kingdom: the UK Standard Pathway, a combination of 3 GCSEs and 3 GCE A-levels.
- United Kingdom, GCSEs only: General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) certificates (without additional A-levels), only if GCSE English First Language has been passed with a result between A*-C of 9-4.
- Germany: the Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife, only if the Grundkurs or Leistungskurs Englisch in the Abitur has been passed.
- German students, Faculty of Science programmes: English needs to be part of the student’s curriculum until the end of the final year and the student needs to obtain a minimum grade of 8 out of 15 (for Leistungskurs and Grundkurs).
- German students, Faculty of Social Sciences programmes: a minimum grade of 6 (for Leistungskurs) or 7 (for Grundkurs) out of 15.
- Austrian students, Faculty of Science programmes: English needs to be part of the student’s curriculum until the end of the final year and the student needs to obtain a minimum grade of 3.
- France: the Baccalauréat Français International (BFI), only if the course Modern Language A = English has been passed with a minimum result of 10.
The same page lists national diplomas that count as proof of English, some only when English was passed at a set level:
Behind these lists sit Radboud's Registration Regulations. They state that students whose prior education was not in the Netherlands must comply with a minimum B2 level in English as language requirement, and their Appendix VI accepts a diploma of which the level is at least equal to a Dutch vwo diploma, of which the language of instruction is the English language exclusively and which has been obtained at an institution in an EU/EEA member state or in a country with the English language as one of the official languages referred to in Appendix VII.
English in the AI and Psychology diploma PDFs
The diploma-specific PDFs of Artificial Intelligence and Psychology, as of October 2026, add a line on English per country:
- International Baccalaureate: in the AI PDF, having obtained an International Baccalaureate diploma proves proficiency in English; in the Psychology PDF, having obtained an International Baccalaureate diploma proves proficiency in English.
- Poland: in the AI PDF, the Świadectwo Dojrzałości meets the English language requirement; in the Psychology PDF, the Świadectwo Dojrzałości meets the English language requirement.

- United States: in the AI PDF, having obtained a High School Diploma in the United States proves proficiency in English, if English is the language of instruction; in the Psychology PDF, having obtained a High School Diploma in the United States proves proficiency in English, if English is the language of instruction.
- Bulgaria: in the Psychology PDF, an English language test is required (see the programme webpage).
- Czech Republic: in the Psychology PDF, an English language test is required (see the programme webpage).
- Turkey: in the Psychology PDF, an English language test is required (see the programme webpage).
When you need the certificate
Without one of these diplomas you may still apply without an English certificate. If you are admitted and English is listed as a requirement in the admission email, Radboud University requires the certificate before the enrolment deadline. IELTS and TOEFL results are valid for two years after the test date and must be valid on the date of enrolment.
Dutch-taught bachelors at Radboud University: the Dutch language requirement
If your prior education was not in the Netherlands, a Dutch-taught bachelor at Radboud University requires a certificate of Dutch language skills recognised in Appendix V of the Registration Regulations 2027-2028, such as the Staatsexamen NT2 programme II. The bachelor's overview lists 35 programmes in Dutch, against 14 English listings.
Medicine at Radboud University is taught in Dutch, and so is Natuur- en Sterrenkunde (Physics and Astronomy). Psychology lets you choose between the English-taught programme and the bilingual programme; the Selection and placement regulations 2027-2028 add that the Dutch track requires a certificate of Dutch at pre-university level (vwo niveau, NT2 niveau). Radboud's Bachelor's page itself counts 13 programmes taught in English.
For holders of a Dutch vwo diploma, the 2027-2028 Registration Regulations set no specific Dutch requirement. The same regulations state that students whose prior education was not in the Netherlands must submit a certificate recognised by the executive board, listed in Appendix V. Radboud's Dutch language page adds that the requirements are the same for Dutch-taught Bachelor's, pre-Master's and Master's programmes.
Certificates and diplomas that meet the Dutch requirement
| Route | What counts |
|---|---|
| Language tests | Staatsexamen NT2 programme II (NT2-II); the Radboud University NT2 exam; CNaVT profile STRT or EDUP |
| International Baccalaureate | Dutch as Language A at SL or HL, or Language B at HL |
| European Baccalaureate | Dutch Language 1 or Language 2 |
| United Kingdom | Web page: Nederlands at GCE A-level. Appendix V: Nederlands or GCE A-level |
| German Abitur with Dutch | Faculty of Science (FNWI): Dutch until the last year, at least 8 out of 15. |
| Belgium | Diploma van Secundair Onderwijs; the French- and German-language Belgian diplomas need a language test |
| Dutch education | A Dutch VWO diploma or a Dutch-taught HBO propaedeutic certificate |
Two wordings differ. The web page of Radboud University says Nederlands at GCE A-level, while Appendix V of the 2027-2028 regulations reads Nederlands or GCE A-level; the web page also carries a footer stating Valid: 01 September 2024 to 31 August 2025. For September 2027 entry, the 2027-2028 regulations are the dated document. The regulations also let the executive board grant an exemption at the student's request, after a recommendation of the board of examiners, to a student who does not meet the requirement.
German applicants to the bilingual, mostly Dutch-taught Psychology programme need, in addition to English, to have passed Dutch as a Prüfungsfach in the Abitur (Grundkurs or Leistungskurs) or to provide a separate Dutch certificate, according to the Psychology diploma-specific requirements.
When you need the Dutch certificate
You may apply for a Dutch-taught programme without one of these diplomas. If you are admitted and Dutch is listed as a requirement in the admission email, Radboud University requires a certificate from a recognised Dutch examination before the enrolment deadline, which the how-to-apply chapter lists per group.
Entry requirements at Radboud University: VWO equivalence for IB, A-levels, US and EU diplomas
Radboud University accepts secondary school diplomas which are equivalent to the Dutch VWO (pre-university education), and its country list, which applies only to applications for the 2027-2028 academic year, names the diplomas it considers equivalent. On top of that list come programme rules: the science bachelors and Computing Science, for example, ask IB applicants for at least 27 points with all grades 4 points or higher.
Radboud University is clear that the list does not guarantee admission and that you cannot derive rights from it: grades, subjects followed and subject levels are also considered. Many Bachelor's programmes also require a certain level of mathematics in your diploma, or an additional mathematics test. A diploma that is not listed may still be equivalent to the VWO, with possible additional requirements on subjects and grades.
International Baccalaureate
The European Baccalaureate (Schola Europaea) and the Diploma of the International Baccalaureate are both on the list of international diplomas. The 2027-2028 list gives no general IB points minimum; the extra requirements are set per programme:
| Programme | IB requirement on the country list |
|---|---|
| Artificial Intelligence | Mathematics A&A HL (min. 4 points) |
| Biology | Biology + Chemistry (HL), Mathematics A&A (HL/SL) or Mathematics A&I (HL), Physics in the curriculum leading up to the IBDP with sufficient grades; at least 27 points, all grades 4 points or higher |
| Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences, Natural Sciences | Chemistry + Mathematics A&A + Physics: at least two at HL; at least 27 points, all grades 4 points or higher |
| Computing Science | Mathematics A&A at HL; at least 27 points, all grades 4 points or higher |
| Economics and Business Economics, International Business Administration | Mathematics A&A (HL/SL) (min. 4 points); or Mathematics A&I HL (min. 4 points) |
| International Business Communication, Psychology | Mathematics A&A (HL/SL) (min. 4 points); or Mathematics A&I (HL/SL) (min. 4 points) |
The 27 points do not include points for CAS, the Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge. The diploma-specific PDFs per programme can add more detail; the mathematics chapter covers the maths subjects.
A-levels and Scottish Highers
From the United Kingdom, Radboud University asks for GCSEs in 3 subjects or more with grade C/4 or higher, plus 3 A-levels with grade C or higher, and in total at least 6 different subjects at C/4 or higher, preferably including English and Mathematics. For International A-levels (Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, Oxford, AQA International Examinations), the list asks for IGCSE in 3 subjects (or more) with a grade C/4 or higher, plus IGCE with 3 subjects at advanced level (A-level) with a grade C or higher, in total at least 6 different subjects, preferably including English and Mathematics. From Scotland, the list asks for the Scottish Qualifications Certificate (SQC) with 4 Highers and 2 Advanced Highers in academic subjects.
US high school diploma and AP
On the 2027-2028 list, a US diploma means a high school diploma + 4 AP certificates (min grade 3 out of 5) or specific curriculum and GPA combinations, to be assessed case by case; a non-US diploma with AP certificates needs at least 4 of them, assessed individually. Programmes add compulsory APs: Calculus AB or BC (min. score 3) for Artificial Intelligence; AP course Calculus (AB or BC) (min. score 3) or AP course Statistics (min. score 3) for Economics and Business Economics, International Business Administration and Psychology; Calculus (AB or BC) or Statistics (min. score 3) for International Business Communication. Computing Science asks for Calculus and a high school GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4.0. Biology asks for 4 AP certificates in academic subjects (min. score of 3), including compulsory AP certificates: Biology + Chemistry. Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences and Natural Sciences ask for 4 AP certificates in academic subjects (min. score of 3), including compulsory AP certificates: Calculus (AB or BC), Chemistry, Physics (Physics 2 + Physics 1; OR Physics 2 + Physics C Mechanics). Biology and Chemistry also set the same GPA floor.

Artificial Intelligence and Psychology: the diploma PDFs
Two programmes keep their own diploma PDF with a line per country. As of October 2026, the Artificial Intelligence and Psychology PDFs name these diplomas:
- International Baccalaureate: in the AI PDF, Diploma programme (not Career-related programme) with a minimum of 24 points, and a minimum of three higher level subjects; in the Psychology PDF, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), not Career-related programme, with a minimum of at least 24 points, and a minimum of three higher level subjects.
- United States: in the AI PDF, High School Diploma and four AP-certificates with a minimum grade 3 (out of 5); in the Psychology PDF, High School Diploma including four AP certificates with a minimum grade 3 (out of 5).
- United Kingdom: in the Psychology PDF, General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in at least three subjects, and at least three subjects with marks ranging from A* to C or 9 to 4, and a General Certificate of Education (GCE) with at least three academically relevant subjects at advanced level (A level) and with marks ranging from A* to C.
- Turkey: in the Psychology PDF, Lise Diploması; 4 years with GPA at least 80%. If one of the 4 years has a GPA lower than 80%, 2 entry examinations with minimum 180 points each (TYT + AYT) are needed as well.

- Poland: in the AI PDF, Świadectwo Dojrzałości (on the basis of a liceum ogólnokształcące).
- Romania: in the AI PDF, Diplomă de Bacalaureat; in the Psychology PDF, Diplomă de Bacalaureat.
- Slovakia: in the AI PDF, Vysvedčenie o Maturitnej skúške (from a Gymnázium); in the Psychology PDF, Vysvedčenie o Maturitnej skúške (from a Gymnázium).
When your diploma is not equivalent
Some diplomas do not give direct entry. With the West African Senior School Certificate (WAEC), or a secondary diploma from Chile, Radboud University states you cannot be admitted directly. For these countries, the 2027-2028 list asks for more than the school diploma alone:
- Brazil: Certificado de Conclusão de 2° Grau / Certificado de Conclusão de Ensino Médio + a successfully completed first year of full-time higher education.
- Indonesia: Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) from a top school, or with a successfully completed first year of full-time higher education.
- Mexico: Bachiller + a successfully completed first year of full-time higher education.
- Morocco: Attestation du Baccalauréat + a successfully completed first year of full-time higher education.
- Taiwan: Senior High School Diploma + a successfully completed first year of full-time higher education.
The route Radboud describes is to complete one year in an academic programme at an accredited institution, closely related to your chosen Bachelor's, with the entire first-year curriculum passed, or to earn a Dutch HBO propaedeutic certificate and re-apply. The E-Check gives an insight into your eligibility for the programme of your choice.
Mathematics requirements for Radboud bachelors
Most Radboud University bachelors set a mathematics level, from Mathematics B for Computing Science, Chemistry and Natural Sciences to VWO Mathematics C for International Business Communication. If your diploma falls short, a test fills the gap: the SAT with at least 600 (out of 800) on the mathematics section for Psychology, for example, or the Online Mathematics Placement Test with at least 55% for the science programmes.
The levels are written in Dutch VWO terms on the programme pages, and the diploma-specific PDFs translate them per country. The Computing Science PDF, for example, states that its requirements are valid for the study year 2027-2028.
Most programmes only accept 2 attempts at the test. SAT and AP scores reach Radboud University through your College Board account, with the institutional code 7737. Proof of attendance or registration for a course or test is not sufficient: Radboud needs the result.
For a Dutch vwo diploma, two more programme pages state the subject package:
- Natural Sciences: all vwo-diplomas with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics B.
- Physics and Astronomy (Natuur- en Sterrenkunde, taught in Dutch): with the Nature & Technology profile directly admissible; with other profiles Physics and Mathematics B in your subject package; the page also lists all vwo diplomas with Physics and Mathematics B.
What counts in your diploma
- Computing Science (2027-2028 PDF): IB maths A&A HL only and at least 27 points; Abitur maths at least 09, other sciences 07; matura advanced maths at least 50% and a final-year GPA of 4 out of 6; A-level (Advanced) Mathematics with all grades B or higher; AP Calculus and a GPA of at least 3.5 (out of 4.0).
- Biology and Chemistry (diploma PDFs): matura subjects at advanced level with at least 50% in the written exams and final-year grades of at least 4 out of 6; Chemistry accepts only IB maths A&A, Biology also A&I HL.
One conflict concerns Artificial Intelligence. The 2027-2028 country list asks Artificial Intelligence applicants with the IB for Mathematics A&A HL (min. 4 points), while the AI diploma PDF, as of October 2026, accepts A&A HL, A&A SL or A&I HL. With A&A SL or A&I HL, confirm with Student Admissions before you rely on it; the AI PDF adds that A&I SL students submit a separate mathematics certificate before enrolment.
Mathematics per country in the AI and Psychology PDFs
The diploma-specific PDFs of Artificial Intelligence and Psychology, as of October 2026, set the mathematics line per country:
- International Baccalaureate: in the AI PDF, A&A HL, A&A SL, or A&I HL; in the Psychology PDF, having taken A&A HL, A&A SL, A&I HL, or A&I SL.
- Bulgaria: in the AI PDF, Mathematics in the Matura with a minimum grade 6.00 (Отличен 6); in the Psychology PDF, if Mathematics is not passed with a final grade of 4.50 - 5.49 (Много добър) or above, a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required; Mathematics is not a required Matura subject.
- Czech Republic: in the Psychology PDF, if Mathematics is not passed with a minimum grade of 49% on the Matura, a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required.
- Germany: in the AI PDF, Mathematics as Prüfungsfach in the Abitur (Grundkurs or Leistungskurs/eA) with a minimum 09 out of 15; in the Psychology PDF, mathematics is not required as an Abiturfach and the Q2.2 results are assessed individually.
- Poland: in the AI PDF, Mathematics (Advanced Level) must be passed in the Matura with a minimum grade of 50%; in the Psychology PDF, if Mathematics is not passed on the Matura with a minimum score of 40% (podstawowy), a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required.
- Romania: in the AI PDF, Mathematics (M1) must be taken in the National Baccalaureate Exam, with a grade of at least 9 out of 10; in the Psychology PDF, if the Bacalaureat result for Mathematics is below 7.0, a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required.
- Slovakia: in the AI PDF, if the grade for Mathematics is not passed at grade 2 or above, a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required; in the Psychology PDF, if the grade for Mathematics is not passed at grade 3 or above, a separate and sufficient Mathematics certificate is required.
- Turkey: in the AI PDF, Mathematics in year 10, 11 and 12 must be at least 85 out of 100; in the Psychology PDF, Mathematics year 12 must be at least 80 out of 100.
- United Kingdom: in the AI PDF, Mathematics at GCE A level with a minimum grade B; in the Psychology PDF, Mathematics at GCE A level with a minimum grade C.
- United States: in the AI PDF, AP certificate in Calculus AB or Calculus BC with minimum grade 3; in the Psychology PDF, a minimum grade 3 (out of 5) on an AP certificate in Calculus AB, Calculus BC or Statistics, or an SAT mathematics test level 1 or 2 with at least 600 (out of 800) points, or the mathematics section in the SAT.
- For Psychology, biology is recommended, not required.
Deadlines for the mathematics certificate
You need no mathematics certificate when you apply, as the AI diploma PDF puts it. The mathematics requirements page sets the deadline for the result by group: 1 June for non-EU/EEA students, for the visa procedure; 31 July for EU/EEA students in Biomedische Wetenschappen, Psychology/Psychologie, Geneeskunde or Tandheelkunde; and 15 August for all other programmes. The page adds that if you cannot meet the deadline you can request an extension until August 31st, applied for before 31 July.
English-taught bachelor programmes at Radboud University
Radboud University says it offers 13 Bachelor's programmes taught in English, while its bachelor's overview filter counts 14 English listings and its English test page names fourteen programmes. Of the numerus fixus bachelors, only Psychology is on that English list; every other English-taught bachelor admits all applicants who meet its requirements.
The minimum English test scores page of Radboud University is the most complete list of the English-taught bachelors, because it names each programme with its test group. The difference with the Bachelor's page count is not explained on either page; the overview also lists Arts and Culture Studies with the label Bachelor's NL.
| Programme | English group | Deadline on the programme page |
|---|---|---|
| American Studies | Standard | 01 May 2027 |
| Artificial Intelligence | Standard | 01 April 2027 |
| Arts and Culture Studies | Standard | See the programme page |
| Economics and Business Economics | Standard | 01 April 2027 |
| English Language and Culture | Standard | See the programme page |
| International Business Administration | Standard | 01 April 2027 (non-EU/EEA), 01 May 2027 (EU/EEA with housing lottery) |
| International Business Communication | Standard | See the programme page |
| Psychology (numerus fixus) | Standard | 15 January 2027 |
| Biology | Higher | 01 April 2027 |
| Chemistry | Higher | See the programme page |
| Computing Science | Higher | See the programme page |
| Molecular Life Sciences | Higher | Page still shows 01 May 2026 |
| Natural Sciences | Higher | See the programme page |
| Philosophy, Politics and Society | Higher | 01 May 2027 |
The programme pages each show one deadline, and all those that name the 2027 cycle say applications opened on 01 October 2026. The general rule on the deadlines page still applies to you: 1 April for non-EU/EEA students and 1 May or 1 July for EU/EEA students, depending on the housing lottery. The Molecular Life Sciences page has not been updated: it still shows applications open from 01 October 2025 and a deadline of 01 May 2026, both past.
Psychology: English or bilingual
Psychology at Radboud University lets you choose the English-taught programme or the bilingual programme, and both share one selection. It is the only programme on the English list with a numerus fixus: the 2027-2028 regulations give it 615 places for the Dutch and English programmes together.
Radboud states that there are five Bachelor's programmes with a maximum number of places for 2027-2028, while the overview filter shows Numerus Fixus Yes 6 and No 46. The 2027-2028 statement on the places page is the one tied to your year.
What each programme asks
Subject, mathematics and English rules differ per programme and are covered in their own chapters of this report. In short: the standard English group needs IELTS 6.0, the higher group IELTS 6.5; Computing Science, Chemistry and Natural Sciences need Mathematics B or its equivalent, the business and economics programmes Mathematics A or B.
Dutch-taught programmes international readers ask about
Medicine at Radboud University is taught in Dutch, as its programme page states, and Dutch, European and International Law is listed in the overview with the label Bachelor's NL. Medicine (Geneeskunde) has 322 places for 2027-2028, Biomedical Sciences 100, Human Neuroscience 175 and Dentistry 72; Medicine and Biomedical Sciences select by draw. For any of them with a non-Dutch diploma you also need a recognised Dutch certificate, as the Dutch language chapter explains.
Career prospects: what Radboud University graduates do next
For bachelor graduates, the closest career figure Radboud University gives is a 2016-2017 survey of Business Administration master's alumni, in which 84% reported a job within three months.
The International Business Administration career page says graduates are well-qualified for managerial positions in the international business world, at consultancies and in government, but that most students opt to continue on to a Master's degree. Plan your bachelor at Radboud University as the first of two degrees.
The Business Administration alumni survey
The survey quoted on the IBA page covers master's alumni, not bachelor graduates, and dates from 2016-2017. In it, 84% of the graduates reported a job within three months.
Radboud University notes that every faculty has a Career Service, where you can go with questions about and help with labour market orientation.
Staying in the Netherlands after graduating
If you want to stay in the Netherlands to look for a job, Radboud University points to the residence permit for the orientation year, which you can apply for with the IND until three years after obtaining a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Cost of study at Radboud University: statutory and institutional fees
For 2027-2028 the statutory tuition fee at Radboud University is € 2,771 for a full-time programme. Students who do not qualify for it pay an institutional fee that depends on the programme: in the 2027-2028 Registration Regulations, €13,812 for non-EEA students in most bachelors and €17,701 in the Faculty of Science.
Radboud University says the institutional fees differ per programme and appear on each programme page for the coming academic year. The 2027-2028 programme pages mark them as still subject to change: Psychology lists €9,427.00 (EEA) and €13,812.00 (non-EEA), Artificial Intelligence €12,755.00 and €17,701.00.
| Faculty or programme | EEA | Non-EEA |
|---|---|---|
| Faculty of Law; Nijmegen School of Management; most Social Sciences bachelors | €9,427 | €13,812 |
| Faculty of Science, Mathematics and Information Technology | €12,755 | €17,701 |
| Artificial Intelligence; Human Neuroscience | €12,755 | €17,701 |
| Biomedische Wetenschappen | €12,755 | €17,701 |
| Other Radboud University Medical Centre bachelors | €22,739 | €29,367 |
| Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, other bachelors | €9,247 | €13,812 |
Two figures do not line up. The International Business Administration tuition page still shows the 2026 - 2027 fees, €9,578.00 (EEA) and €13,793.00 (non-EEA), while the 2027-2028 regulations set €9,427 and €13,812 for all bachelor's programmes of the Nijmegen School of Management. And the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies row gives €9,247 for EEA students, where the Law, Social Sciences and Management rows give €9,427. Check your programme page before you budget.
Who pays the statutory fee
Radboud University charges the statutory fee if you meet both criteria: you have Dutch nationality, are a national of another EU/EEA country, Switzerland or Suriname, or hold an eligible Dutch residence permit; and you do not yet hold a Dutch Bachelor's degree when you enrol in a Bachelor's programme. If you do not meet both criteria, you are charged the institutional fee, with exceptions in four cases listed on the tuition fee page. A non-EU/EEA national applying from abroad therefore pays the non-EEA institutional fee of the programme.
How you pay
Under the 2027-2028 Registration Regulations, you pay the tuition fee either as a single payment or through an irrevocable payment authorisation for instalments. In instalments, the total is collected in ten equal monthly instalments, the first due in September 2027, and administration costs of € 24 apply. Radboud lists the Registration Regulations for 2026-2027 and for 2027-2028 on its regulations page.
Living costs
Radboud University does not publish a monthly student budget. The figure it gives is the one for the visa application: for a Bachelor's, a full academic year of living expenses is € 13,800, based on a monthly amount set by the IND, and you show it together with the tuition fee for the first year. Rents are in the housing chapter.
Radboud University scholarships and funding for bachelor students
Radboud University's scholarship pages offer no scholarship for international bachelor students: the NL Scholarship of €5,000 and the Radboud Scholarship Programme are both for non-EU/EEA students in English-taught Master's programmes. For a bachelor, the funding routes Radboud describes are Dutch student finance (DUO) for eligible EU/EEA and Swiss students, a tuition fees loan, and foreign BAföG for German nationals.
The NL Scholarship is meant for students from outside the EEA who want to do their Master's in the Netherlands; it is awarded for 1 year and only once, and Radboud has a maximum of 26 for the academic year 2027-2028. The Radboud Scholarship Programme gives talented non-EU/EEA students a partial scholarship for an English-taught Master's programme. Keep both in mind for later, not for your bachelor.
| Route | Who | What |
|---|---|---|
| Dutch student finance (DUO) | EU/EEA and Swiss students under 30 who work at least 32 hours per month in the Netherlands or have lived there for five years or more | Basic grant, supplementary grant, student travel product, interest-bearing loan, tuition fees loan |
| Tuition fees loan | EEA or Swiss nationals not eligible for full student finance (also British nationals with an article 50 residence permit) | A loan towards the tuition fee |
| Foreign BAföG | Students of German nationality only | German support for study abroad within the EU and Switzerland |
| NL Scholarship; Radboud Scholarship Programme | Non-EU/EEA students | Master's programmes only |
Dutch student finance for EU/EEA students
Radboud's student finance page lists the components of Dutch student finance: a basic grant, a supplementary grant that depends on your parents' income, a student travel product, an interest-bearing loan and a tuition fees loan. You must be younger than 30 on the day your student finance starts and be enrolled in a full-time programme that lasts at least 1 year. If you neither work in the Netherlands nor have lived there for five years, the tuition fees loan is the route open to you as an EEA or Swiss national. The amounts are set by DUO, not by Radboud University.
Tuition fee support for German students
The Radboud page on tuition fee support for German students explains foreign BAföG: under German BAföG legislation, study abroad within the EU and in Switzerland is supported from the beginning until the foreign qualification, in principle with the same requirements as study in Germany. Radboud stresses that this information only applies to students of German nationality, and the page publishes no Radboud subsidy amount.
Housing at Radboud University and in Nijmegen
Radboud University does not guarantee housing for new bachelor students: its housing page says international Bachelor's students will have to find housing by themselves, but can apply in the Room Lottery of SSH& with travel priority. That priority lottery for September starters begins on 1 June, and Radboud advises registering ideally before 1 April (non-EU/EEA) or 1 May (EU/EEA).
Radboud University explains that Dutch universities do not have their own housing, so it cannot facilitate housing for all incoming international students, and that the nationwide housing crisis creates significant challenges for Dutch and international students alike. The travel priority in the SSH& Room Lottery is for all Bachelor's and pre-Master's students who have to travel for more than two hours to reach Nijmegen.
Help with housing: what the two pages say
The wording differs between two Radboud pages. The help-with-housing page states that almost all new international students can request assistance in finding accommodation for their first year, and adds that being eligible does not mean you will automatically receive a room offer, because housing mediated by Radboud University is limited. The main housing page says international Bachelor's and pre-Master's students will have to find housing by themselves, and the housing options page describes Radboud accommodation for first-year international exchange and Master's students. Plan as a bachelor student who finds a room alone, and treat any offer as a bonus.
Rents for a room through estate agents depend on the size and on whether you have a private kitchen. A studio or apartment with its own facilities costs more.
Private market and scams
- Never pay a 'mediation fee': Radboud University points out that this is illegal in the Netherlands.
- Scammers have been active on non-commercial platforms such as Facebook groups.
- Avoid transferring large amounts before you have seen the room. Transferring one month's rent and a deposit in advance is common, usually after you sign a rental contract.
- If you have not secured accommodation before your studies start, Radboud strongly advises you not to travel to Nijmegen yet; it cannot provide emergency accommodation or individual housing assistance on arrival.
Student life at Radboud University and in Nijmegen
Radboud University describes itself as a campus university where everything is close by, with students from over 100 countries, in Nijmegen, which it calls a very popular student city. New international students start with an orientation week, and Radboud runs a separate one for international Bachelor's students.
Orientation week
Radboud International Students (RIS) organises an orientation week each August and January for new international exchange and (pre-)Master's students. International Bachelor's students are pointed to their own orientation week page. The orientation page for international students describes the week: you spend most of it with about twenty students from your own study programme, plus three or four senior students who are your mentors.
Campus and city
Radboud University is a campus university, and its Bachelor's page says everything is close by, making you feel at home quickly. Nijmegen hosts several educational institutions, and Radboud calls it a very popular student city. Radboud makes that point on its housing page, next to its warning about the housing shortage, so read the housing chapter before you plan your arrival.
Residence permit, work rights and staying in the Netherlands
If you are not a citizen of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, you need a residence permit to study at Radboud University, and Radboud files the application with the IND on your behalf. The IND charges a processing fee of € 254, and for a Bachelor's you show € 13,800 for living expenses for the full academic year plus the first year's tuition.
Citizens of Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States or Vatican City State need a residence permit to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days. Radboud University assists with the application and files it with the IND, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service, for you.
Radboud University explains that the earlier non-EU/EEA deadline is required to allow sufficient time to complete the visa application procedure, and its mathematics requirements page asks non-EU/EEA students for their result by 1 June, in order to start the visa procedure.
What the permit costs
- IND processing fee: € 254.
- Insurance: about € 60 a month for the duration of your stay, with a maximum of 12 months.
- Tuberculosis test, where required: € 58,50.
- Proof of means for a Bachelor's: € 13,800 for the full academic year, from 1 September to 31 August.
Radboud marks these amounts with an asterisk on its costs page, so check them again in the spring before you pay.
Working while you study
If you are from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, Radboud University says you are free to work and there are no restrictions.
Staying after graduation
After your study permit expires, you can sometimes stay in the Netherlands and the Schengen Area for an additional maximum of 90 days. To look for a job, you can apply with the IND for the residence permit for the orientation year until three years after obtaining your Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Who is Radboud University for? Summary
Radboud University suits you if you want an English-taught bachelor in the Netherlands without a selection round: of its 13 English-taught bachelors, only Psychology has capped places, and the others admit everyone who meets the diploma, English and subject requirements. It suits you less if you need guaranteed housing, because international Bachelor's students have to find housing by themselves.
The cost depends on who you are. For 2027-2028, an EU/EEA student who qualifies pays the statutory fee of € 2,771. A non-EEA student pays the institutional fee, for example €13,812.00 in Psychology or €17,701.00 in Artificial Intelligence, both still subject to change. A science or AI bachelor costs a non-EEA student more than a social science or business one.
How the English-taught programmes compare
Psychology is the selective one: you register by 15 January 2027, and the 2027-2028 regulations give it 615 places. Radboud lists five numerus fixus bachelors for 2027-2028, and the other four are not on its English list. The remaining English-taught bachelors are open, but not without bars: the science programmes and Computing Science ask for Mathematics B or its equivalent and a higher English score, and the diploma list that sets the VWO equivalence applies only to applications for the 2027-2028 academic year.
Next steps for September 2027
Start in Studielink, which takes registrations for the new academic year from 1 October onwards, then upload your documents in OSIRIS Application. Because the housing lottery and the Study Compatibility Check both reward an early application, applying in the winter rather than at the deadline gives you more options in Nijmegen.
Radboud University: frequently asked questions
What is the Radboud University acceptance rate?
Radboud University's admission pages give no acceptance rate. They do give a cap: five bachelors have a maximum number of places for 2027-2028, among them Psychology with 615 places, and every other bachelor admits applicants who meet its requirements.
Does Radboud University require the SAT or ACT?
No. The SAT appears only as one way to show your maths level: at least 600 (out of 800) on the mathematics section for programmes such as Artificial Intelligence, International Business Administration and Psychology. The ACT is not named on the mathematics requirements page, and your diploma, not a test, is the basis of admission.
What are the Radboud University deadlines for 2027 entry?
Programmes with enrolment restrictions close on 15 January for all students. Other programmes close on 1 April for non-EU/EEA students, and on 1 May or 1 July for EU/EEA students, depending on the housing lottery. Programme pages tie these dates to the 2027-2028 cycle, with applications open from 01 October 2026.
How much does Radboud University cost for international students?
For 2027-2028 the statutory fee is € 2,771, charged to students who meet its criteria. Non-EEA students pay the institutional fee: €13,812 in most bachelors and €17,701 in the Faculty of Science, according to the 2027-2028 Registration Regulations. For the visa, the IND asks for proof of € 13,800 in living expenses.
Is there a scholarship for international bachelor students at Radboud?
Radboud's scholarship pages list none for bachelors: the NL Scholarship of €5,000 and the Radboud Scholarship Programme are for non-EU/EEA students in English-taught Master's programmes. For a bachelor, Radboud describes Dutch student finance (DUO) for eligible EU/EEA and Swiss students, a tuition fees loan, and foreign BAföG for German nationals.
What English score does Radboud University require?
Most English-taught bachelors need IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with all sub-scores at least 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 80 overall with all subscores at least 20. Science programmes and Philosophy, Politics and Society need IELTS 6.5 overall and TOEFL 90. Certain diplomas exempt you; nationality does not.
Do I need a visa or residence permit for Radboud University?
If you are not a citizen of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, you need a residence permit, and Radboud files the application with the IND. The IND processing fee is € 254.
How does Radboud University select students for Psychology?
Psychology selects on a matching assignment worth 60% and a questionnaire on prior-education marks worth 40%, and you register in Studielink by 15 January 2027. Medicine and Biomedical Sciences select by unweighted draw instead.
Does Radboud University guarantee housing?
No. Its housing page says international Bachelor's students have to find housing by themselves, but can apply in the SSH& Room Lottery with travel priority. Register ideally before 1 April (non-EU/EEA) or 1 May (EU/EEA); the priority lottery for September starters begins on 1 June.
Do I need Dutch to study at Radboud University?
English-taught bachelors are assessed on English test scores. For a Dutch-taught bachelor such as Medicine, prior education outside the Netherlands needs a certificate recognised in Appendix V of the 2027-2028 Registration Regulations, for example Staatsexamen NT2 programme II. The bachelor's overview lists 35 programmes in Dutch and 14 English listings.
